| Ludwig had been busy outside in the warm weather digging weeds up. It was a tough job, and was horrible on your back in all accounts. Still, he had neglected to do this for two days, and he knew that the garden could not be neglected further. Pulling one stubborn plant out of the ground he threw the thing into the trash bag. A bird called over head and he lifted his blue eyes to the sky, his hand shielding his eyes from the sun. He had been out here since eight o' clock this morning, and judging by the height of the sun it was near noon. Had he really been out there for this long? Setting down his hand shovel Ludwig wiped the sweat from his brow. Now was a good time to take a break and get much needed lunch in his stomach. Grunting a little bit Ludwig stood up brushing his knees off before turning to walk inside, puling his shoes off once he stepped onto the back patio. The German man set his boots off to the side, and stepped into door that led into his laundry room. Clothes were finished, no baskets with anything that needed to be folded, and he was fairly certain he had washed his sheets. Closing the door he walked softly out and into his kitchen opening up the refrigerator. Reaching in he pulled out some vegetables, romaine lettuce, and some spinach. Closing the door he turned and headed to his pantry opening it to see the contents. This was perfect weather for a salad, now if only he could find his salad dressing.
Veneziano may have taken the last when he was here, damn.
Never mind, he was fairly certain he had a balsamic vinegar sitting around in his refrigerator. Pulling out his cutting board, and a large bowl Ludwig sat the vegetables in there. Setting the bowl in the sink he turned the water on, and began to wash them thoroughly. As he smoothed his thumb carefully off a leaf of lettuce he furrowed his brow, what was that just now? As he was concentrating a small blip, like a image that appeared and disappeared had crossed through his thoughts. It was odd, like someone in clothes older than anything he had ever seen Gilbert wear. Brushing the occurrence off as nothing of consequence he continued to work. Drying the washed vegetables now he sat them onto the cutting board. Reaching up he grabbed his cutlery knives, the smaller one for this, and starting cutting with precision, Perhaps he would do well to invite Germania for once since the man had come back. After all, the man from what he understood was his relative, and maybe it would be polite to do so. Then of course he recalled his promise to let Italy come over for dinner.
When was Italy not here? The damn Italian was always present in his home whether he liked it or not! Most of the time the bumbling, pasta eating fool showed up unannounced! This always irritated and angered Ludwig because he liked politeness. It was polite to call first, ask, and then work around the schedule of the person's own life. Not just show up whenever you felt was the perfect chance for you to do so. Yet, Ludwig found himself getting aggravated with Veneziano but, in the end he would never kick him out. For some reason he could not stand to see those golden eyes tear up. Or for that face to be showing an ounce of sadness in it, for some reason that never sat right with him. So, he would endure it to have Veneziano come over for dinner but, he did not expect the man to show up on time. Placing down his knife Ludwig carefully put all vegetables back into the bowl. Lettuce, carrots, green peppers, tomatoes, radish? It looked like a fairly delicious salad but, now all he was missing was that dressing for it. Ludwig was quite particular about this because, he was rather fond of having some flavor with his salad. Otherwise the whole thing tasted a little bland.
Then it happened again, this time his head hurt a bit.
What the hell was that image? Outside a castle, the image was slightly blurry, that young girl again what on earth? Her face was full of sadness, she was clutching a push broom in her small hands. There were soldiers in old uniform and armor standing near them, some lined up to leave. After all these years had he finally started snapping now? Nein, he could not let this effect him, it was nothing! Just lack of proper sleep, there was always a logical explanation for everything. Ludwig rubbed the front of his head closing his eyes letting out a sigh. God, had he really been pushing himself so much lately he was hallucinating? The term 'taking a break' was not in his vocabulary but, maybe it could not hurt to take a small break to read. Figuring it was nothing more than stress he went about business as usual, trying to push his concerns back and wild theories.

| Germania made his way to Ludwig's home, the wind rushing around him. He was glad that he had put up his hair or else it would look like a rat's nest. Did he seriously want his son to see him pissed because of something so trivial as messed up hair? No, he needed today to go smoothly.
He was going to tell him. Tell Ludwig everything.. The boy needed to know.
Making his way down the path, Germania turned onto Germany's street and made his way to the other's home. He looked around him, taking in the scenery, and sighed some. He rubbed his forehead, grumbling, before walking up the path to Ludwig's house.
Germania knocked on the door three times. Three quick, hard raps to signal the other that someone was at the door waiting for him. Germania put his hands into his pockets, staring down at his shoes. He composed himself quickly, standing up straight and looking up at a bird's nest in the tree..
How he wished he was there for Germany and Prussia like how that bird was there for her two babies..

| Ludwig scowled when he heard the knocking not sure who it was outside. Honestly, who bothered anyone without paying a proper phone call first? Well he knew it was not Veneziano because, the person did not find a way in unannounced. Stopping his task of dressing hunting the blonde haired man walked out of his kitchen, and made his way into the front foyer. Unlocking his front door he opened and looked out to see who was visiting him. What Germany saw was rather startling on the other side. A man was standing there with long hair but, it was pulled up out of his face. His features were strong with cool and collective blue eyes, and his brow was strong. To be quite honest the man looked like an older version of himself. What did this mean however? Was it a Germanic country that he was not aware of? "Hallo, wo bist du?" Germany spoke in his native dialect without thinking. What if this man did not speak German? Then he would look like a fool and Ludwig would have a time of trying to speak with him. However, something told the German that speaking German was fine.
(ooc: wo bist du is "how are you?")

| Germania looked down at his son and took a step back to take in his features fully. He wanted to smile at him, but the muscles in his face didn't seem to want to pull up. Instead of that, he offered a greeting, answer, and a question.
"Hallo, mir geht es gut, danke. Darf ich hereinkommen?" Germania said, looking down at Ludwig. He clasped his hands in front of himself, looking down at his son from the bridge of his nose. His eyes were somewhat soft, a hint of kindness beneath the stoic attitude.
The wind whipped around behind him, stirring up his long blond hair.

| Good the man spoke German which would make this incredibly easier. Stepping aside he let Germania in and then closed the door behind him. This gentlemen seemed so familiar that Germany could've sworn he was a relative. His strong features, those eyes, even his manner of speaking was so much like his. Ludwig was never opposed to letting a stranger into his home, German hospitality and all. Though he would be particular depending on how the person presented themselves. You never wanted to let someone like a murderer into your home. However, with this man who stood before him he felt as if it were all right, and that this person in particular was rather safe.
"So, are you lost sir or ...?" Germany wasn't sure how to ask the man any questions. When it came to strangers that was usually the first question in his mind.

| Germania shook his head, looking down at him. He looked into the house behind the young nation, wondering if Prussia was there as well.
"How are you and Prussia doing?" He asked, brushing off Germany's question. This should be the answer to said question though, if he was lost, then why would he know about Prussia and him. When he looked back down at Germany, he gaged his reaction.
"I think we should take this inside, yes?"

| The moment Ludwig heard Germania mention his brother he knew it was something else. Taking the man further into his home, he led Germania into his living room and offered a seat up. So if this man knew Prussia then who was he precisely? A family member then perhaps that he had been vastly unaware of? That could perhaps be the case because, Ludwig was never really told of his origins. No, he only knew that he had grown up with Gilbert and that was all. Any other information regarding his childhood seemed to be a distant, foggy memory lost somewhere.
"We are doing fine I suppose, he's still as strange as ever." Germany commented before darting into the kitchen. He returned rather quickly with water for Germania, and some sweet tea for himself. Taking a seat the German man sat his glass on the table. Resting his elbows on his knees, he linked his fingers and rested his chin on his hand. This was Ludwig's usual pose when he was scrutinizing something or someone. Yes, this man looked a lot more like him than anyone else he'd ever seen. Even his own brother did not seem to resemble the man sitting before him very much.
"You ....came to check in on me?" That was his first question, if this man was indeed family.

| Germania followed the young nation into the house, hands clasped behind his back as he studied everything. Looking to Ludwig, he raised an eyebrow and sat down. Such hospitality the man had. Germania thought about Prussia briefly while Ludwig was gone, wondering if he was still the same raucous nation he once had been.
Taking the water, Germania stared at it briefly for a second. No swirls in the water, no small particles of dust.. Taking a sip, he found that it was just a simple glass of water. He set it on the table after he had finished it, looking at Ludwig.
"You could say that.. What has Prussia told you about you, your past?"

| Germany could not help but pause when the man had said those words. His past? Prussia had told him nothing, and that he had only found him unconscious. That was the most he ever got out of his elder brother, and that was the most he ever knew. Nothing else seemed to click, and the more he thought about it the more his head hurt. So then he simply just stopped worrying about it all, and if there ever arose a time it popped into conversation he brushed it off. He was Germany, Deutschland, and at one point Die Deutsche Kaissereich; or the German Empire. This was all the information the man felt was really important, and everything else was needless details. Yet, somewhere in the back of his mind he knew that this wasn't the truth. Within the depths of his subconscious he yearned for the facts.
"Nein, he has told me nothing." Ludwig finally said glancing over. What did this man know that could be of any importance? Ludwig was really curious to know this kind of information.

| Germania nodded, looking over through the window. He stared at the birds and thought to himself. Of course Prussia didn't tell his younger sibling anything, the boy had gone from a great, serious nation to a sniveling, boisterious.. He wasn't even a country anymore! Oh, how his sons have fallen.. Hanging his head in shame, Germania stared into his lap.
"I am Germania. Have you heard of me?" To be honest, he wouldn't be surprised if Germany didn't.

| There was a look on the man's face that he was trying to translate in his mind. Was that a look of nostalgia perhaps, maybe even sadness? Sitting down on a chair near the couch the Nation sat back, and folded his hands in his lap furrowing his brow. Hearing the blonde haired man speak Germany suddenly looked up. "I am well versed in history, and due to reading about the Roman Empire I have heard about you. Germania, the land of the Visigoths, and other tribes that were successful for many centuries in driving away Romans. You were closely connected in both beliefs, and in fighting style with the Scandinavians." Germany said before picking up his beverage to sip it. There wasn't really any manner of history that Germany did not actually know about. Ludwig had found it particularly important to be well versed in such matters around the world. However, it was more so during the time of the Reich he had these histories exposed to him more. His leader at the time was a man who delved into the past, and then used what he found to try and shape the future.
A madman and a fool's errand really but, the historical knowledge that Ludwig gathered was nice.

| Germania looked up, an eyebrow raised. At least one of his son's were smart. He nodded along with Germany's words, smiling to himself mentally. His outer expression never changed though as he looked on at the man.
"So, then I'm guessing that Prussia hasn't told you that I'm, technically speaking, your father? Like how France has Matthew and Roma has Lovino and Feliciano?" He said, then something steuck him. Where was North Italy? Didn't he hear Roma talking about how his younger son always played with Germany? Who knows, the blond probably wasn't listening.
