Room 207; Antonio Fernandez's room WhiteRoom2

Antonio has just moved to his new room, therefore there is very little furniture in there.
It is simple- a bed, a table, a closet and he has been told that he could ask for a TV if he wants to. The only things he brought with him besides a handful of clothes were his precious guitar, and in his pocket- always there, hidden from view- a torn and crumpled picture of Lovino.
Not a single sharp or heavy object is found there since he is deemed to be too violent and a danger to others and to himself. He hopes to be able to ask for a few paints or crayons to make this room more habitable for himself.
He finds comfort in knowing this room is way better than the one he had before in the old hospital. At least he doesn’t have to share it with any patients here.

After months of not seeing Lovino, his anger outbursts increased and developed into frequent violent episodes. He had broken a nurse’s arm and stabbed a doctor with a needle, all while screaming and calling out his little brother’s name. After the episode, he broke down, suffering from mild depression and often crying. He doesn’t want to relive that experience again, but it is impossible; his body is always changing, one second telling him he is angry and suddenly that he is extremely sad or happy.

He is not under heavy watch, for he gets along with everyone most of them time, except when something triggers one of his mood changes (which could be easily fixed if he were more willing to take his meds, but they make him sleepy, which in turn makes it harder to think about Lovino). This is the reason he does not plan on spending too much time in this room, preferring to hang around other places and meeting people.

His body jerked upwards when two orderlies opened the door harshly and started getting closer to his bed. He glanced at them sleepily and wondered what they were doing here, behind them was a nurse carrying a silver tray with three small cups on it. ‘Oh they were here to give him medicine’.

He heard something along the lines of ‘Do we need to hold you down or are you going to take your medicine?’ He shook his head “no” (he didn’t feel angry right now, or in the mood for fighting, just incredibly tired) and offered a hand where the nurse put one of the white cups gently. There were two pills on it, a white and green capsule and a tiny yellow tablet. He eyed them warily, trying to recall if those were the same pills they use to give him in the other hospital. The ones that made his mouth dry and didn’t let him sleep well some nights. But he took the water being offered anyway and both pills went down his throat with no difficulty.

The expression on the nurse’s face lightened and relaxed and she offered a nice smile to Antonio but the man knew better than to trust her that easily. She then handed him another silver tray, it contained a plate with scrambled eggs, a piece of bread and a glass filled with some read liquid. Antonio took the glass and smelled it carefully before taking a tiny sip, his eyes widened and his mouth watered instantly, they had given him tomato juice and enough reason to spend the day happy.

The nurse set to leave then but before that she told him, she was expected in group therapy as soon as he finished his breakfast and that a doctor will come and fetch him. The orderlies gave him the regular warnings about attacking other patients or trying to escape but he just shrugged them off, as long as he wasn’t provoked or as long as there wasn’t anything that would make him sad and angry he should be fine.

After finishing his breakfast Antonio laid down on his bed, waiting for the nurse to come, and for the first time since he arrived here, he let himself think of Lovino. Where was he right now? Was he eating properly? Was he happy? A tear slid down his eye and his hand moved to his pocket, taking out the crumbled picture of Romano that he kept there. He studied his face, his features, that ever present frown on his forehead and a second tear followed quickly by a third came out. The flow didn’t stop until Antonio’s pillow was wet and he had somewhat closed his eyelids… He saw the Italian on his short dream, talking and smiling to him and he knew then that if he ever wanted to survive this place or even just get better, he needed the Lovino back into his life.

She was ready to hit someone, really she was. She had just left Mr. Vargas in the Group Therapy room, and been on her way back to the kitchen- where she was supposed to have been in the first place, only to get pulled aside by one of the nurses.

"Can you escort Mr. Carriedo to the Group Therapy room? I'm running really late, he's in room 207. Thanks."

Silently, Angelique scoffed at the idea that the nurse had actually been busy. She hadn't looked it. However, the woman had been off down the hall before Angelique could say anything, so silently fuming, she had made her way to that room.

Now she stood before it. Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself, she smooth her hair a bit, then ran her hands over her scrubs, trying to get rid of some of the wrinkles left from her running. Finally, she took the key the nurse had handed her, and nervously unlocked the door.

She shouldn't have been escorting a patient who's door had to be locked! She really didn't feel comfortable with this, and the fear and worry that swirled in her stomach made her feel a bit ill.

She knocked on the door, turned the knob, and opening the door just a little bit, "Um... B-Bonjour?"

Antonio didn’t hear the knock in the door until the girl standing outside his it clicked the door open and called up to him. She spoke French, just a simple word and Antonio understood. He opened his eyes slowly quickly and remembered he was still on his bed clothes, trying his best to smile and conceal the tears that were previously adorning his eyes he quickly grabbed a futbol red shirt that was lying around and the jeans he had been wearing when he arrived to the hospital.

“Hola, uhm pasa porfavor” It wasn’t until the words left his mouth that he realized he had spoken them in his native tongue but he guessed she understood, since she was now inside his room.

He stood up hesitating, this must be the doctor that was supposed to look for him and drag him to that group therapy thing right? Well… she looked more like a nurse or an assistant, or something like that. Too young to really hold a position of high power and she looked too fragile to even want to be here. But he guessed it was just the same, he wasn’t going to cause any problems… yet.

It wasn’t until she was very close to him that Antonio noticed she was shaking and moving her feet uncomfortably. The look in her eyes gave her away, she was afraid of him and Antonio’s heart couldn’t help but wretch at the thought of such a lovely little creature being utterly scared of him.

With his head down he approached her and managed to smile hugely. The kind of smile that always made Lovino happy and always managed to change his mood.

“I won’t hurt you, I promise” He looked at her eyes deeply, trying to transmit the sincerity of his words “Are you here to take me to the group therapy? They told me you would come”

She entered the room, nervously, after gaining permission from the patient. She willed herself not to shake, or dart back out the door. When she looked at him, which she did in quick, fleeting glances, she realized he didn't look all that dangerous. But then, neither did Mr. Vargas, or that Mr. Bonnefoy, who she'd spotted in the rec room once or twice. With Mr. Bonnefoy, at least, she had been warned to avoid.

Things were not always as they seemed in places like this, she told herself.

She jumped when he spoke again. Her eyes caught up in his own, such a pretty green color. She blushed slightly, and turned her gaze away, "O-oui."

For a moment, she really did believe him. He seemed so honest.

The image of Miss Héderváry flashed in her mind. Words of warning coming out, on how to never, not once, let her guard down with the patients. Be smart, be cautious, and be ready to get away if she needed too. Angelique wasn't a doctor, or really even a nurse.

"M-my name is Angelique, um.. The nurse who was supposed to be escorting you was busy..." Taking an extra break... "So, I'll be taking you....?"

She wondered if anyone else had arrived at the session yet. Somehow, she doubted it. Despite the fact that this was obviously a facility that demanded to be well run, it was very poorly managed, time wise. Or, maybe, that was just her? She could already hear the head chef yelling at her for being late.

Somehow, she didn't think she'd ever make it back to the kitchens. After this, she was in desperate need of a break. Maybe hiding in the Staff lounge for a few minutes, to rest and calm herself, wouldn't hurt?

She was still nervous, Antonio could tell by the way her legs seemed to move to much, or the way she was working her lower lip with her teeth, probably without even noticing. He contemplated reassuring her again but really what would that accomplish. He was a patient on a mental hospital; she had every right and reason to be afraid of him.

He sighted and his smile faded a little bit. He could feel his previous depressed mood coming back and… Joder Weren’t the medicines supposed to help with his mood changes?

Images of his childhood and his teenage years flashed through his mind. How he could spend days and nights angry, sad or plain happy and how easy that could change in matter of minutes. He didn’t think he was going to lose control right now but it was best to be prepared, he couldn’t risk hurting her. They needed to get out of there; Antonio needed to be in the presence of a doctor right now in case something triggered an angry reaction inside him, the sooner he got to group therapy the better, at least in there, she could count on someone to stop him.

He stood beside her then, waiting for her to move to the door or call one of the orderlies or something. But that didn’t happen, he arched an eyebrow in confusion and moved passed her to the door aiming to open it.

“Shall we get going then?” he tried his best to smile at her but it was getting harder by the second. His hand reached for the doorknob and opened the door slightly and stepped aside waiting for her to exit the room first.

Taking a deep breathe, forcibly calming herself- or, at least, making herself appear calm-, she nodded. “Oui... we should hurry along...”

She was a bit shocked at him for opening the door, but nodded her thanks, and moved through it. Waiting in the hall for him to join her, after he shut the door. She forced herself to breath easily, and motioned for him to follow her, as she led the way down the hall.

She kept her pace with his, keeping one eye on him, and wondering if this was even the correct way to do this. Maybe she should talk to Miss Héderváry? This just didn't seem like something the Nurses should be asking her to do... but she'd have to find the woman, for that... A chore in and of itself.

It might be easier to talk to Miss Castillo. Surely the head cook could help her out a bit, right? She hoped so.

“I don't think they've started yet, I was in the room right before I came to get you, and there was only one patient.” She said, trying to quell her own nerves, and break the awkward silence.
