Room 317 - Peter Kirkland's Room Dorm_r13

Peter's room is simple, equip with its own bathroom. There are no windows, and the vets are very small and don't let in much from the outside hallways.

Sealand looked over his new room, a happy smile on his face as he took in the bland walls. There was a bathroom, and even a nice little closet. Sealand rather liked it. It was surely a nice enough place. The bathroom was definitely a nice touch. And there were no windows, which made Sealand giggle softly to himself. He had no need for a window, it would just be another thing he could try and break. Peter rather liked having windows, and the fact that they were denied one made Sealand rather happy.

Sealand pivoted in place, stood on his tippy toes and sniffed the room. When all he smelt was the scent of cleaning supplies Sealand breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed this institution had gotten his specifications just as they should be.

He looked around once more, and he noticed the small red light of a camera in the far corner of the room. Judging from that trajectory if he was close enough to the door or in the small alcove between the bed and the wall the camera wouldn't see him. That was nice. It was always good to be watched, but sometimes Sealand didn't like it. It was good to be able to get away from it every once in a while.

Sealand bounded over to the door, and gently knocked on its cold surface. When nothing happened Sealand ran his hand down the cool surface till he came to the door knob. He gripped and turned. Locked. Soft giggling bubbled from his throat once more, but turned off as if a switch had been flipped. The small child violently slammed his body into the door, screaming curses at the top of his lungs. Over and over he slammed the door, and on the fifth time he halted and listened. No noises came from the other side. More giggling.

He skipped over to the wall connected to the hallway, and banged his fists against it roughly, repeatedly yelling and cursing every soul in existence. After a few moments he stopped himself, and listened. Nothing. Bright livid laughter streamed from his throat at that, and he danced around the room in circles, swinging his arms all around.

"I like this place already! Its perfect!"

After a few times around the small space Sealand flopped down on the bed, squirming and flailing, still laughing animatedly.

"Its only us~! All by ourselves! Isn't that niiiiice~!!"

Sealand squirmed more on the bed, entirely messing up the perfectly made sheets. A few minutes later he calmed down some, but the jovial tone of his voice didn't dissipate.

"Mary had a little lamb..
Little lamb, little lamb..
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went..
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go!"

Despite his track record, Gilbert was a surprisingly docile compared to some of the patients. He was loud and obnoxious, yes, but it was rarer for him to take part in a fight, even if he did start a lot of them.

A curious soul, he spent the majority of his time hanging around the main desk, where the nurses came and went, and gossiped. He always picked up the best news from everyone, by hanging around flirting with the older nurses, who were more willing to let things slip, when being wooed. It was by doing this, he'd heard about one of the new patients, just a kid, who apparently had quite a few problems.

The news of the kid, had caught his attention, and was sure to be more interesting than lurking at the main desk, or hanging around in his room. Or, god forbid, with other patients. So, snatching a set of keys from one of the newer, and less experianced nurses, he found the room that he'd seen people moving things in and out of.

Standing in front of the door, he fumbled with the keys, while trying to keep an ear out for that psycho bitch, Elizabeta, who had a habit of hitting people with her clipboard. Especially him. He was pretty sure he had brain damage from that damned board.

Eventually, he found the right key, and the latch clicked. Grinning at his success. And really, how could he have failed, he was Great and AWESOME. He always succeeded.

One last, quick glance around, and he swung the door open...

The sounds of footsteps alerted Sealand that someone was approaching his room. He sat quietly on the bed, waiting to see if they were coming for him or if they would just pass by on the way to someone else's room. When the steps stopped in front of his room Sealand's eyes widened and he jumped from the bed in excitement. Someone new! Who would it be? A nurse trying to medicate him? Someone more interesting?

He heard the sound of the key fiddling with the lock and watched excitedly for the door to open.

A white haired man was behind the door, and from the look of him he definitely was not an employee here. The white haired man had scruffy hair, looked generally well kept, but it was obvious he worked to get that bad boy look down pack. His red eyes were striking too, they demanded your attention, and dared anyone to go against them. Another patient maybe? This one might be fun!

"Hello! My name is Sealand! Who are you?"

He wasn't quite sure what he'd been expecting. But a scrawny kid with bushy eyebrows, and blond hair, had not been it. Even so, he grinned, pleased at the bright welcome, though he had to think twice before responding. "Hallo. Ich bin Gilbert Beilschmidt."

Glancing over his shoulder one last time, he stepped into the room, and closed the door carefully behind him. Pocketing the keys, he looked around the room, taking special note of the lack of windows, and the added benefit of the attached bathroom. Lucky kid to get a bathroom, but to stare at the walls all day would get damned boring.

"Sealand, eh?" Eying the kid, he leaned back against the door, noting that everything outside seems muffled. Soundproof, interesting indeed. "Not much of a name for a kid. Your parents smoking something when you were born?"

Sealand laughed outright at that one. His parents were a topic of rather fond enjoyment for him, and every time the subject came up Sealand couldn't help but be exceptionally pleased with himself.

"Its Peter if you want to go by that, but I am Sealand. I won't like you much if you insist on calling me that though. I am Not Peter you see. You'd have to come back later if you wanted to speak with him, though he's terribly droll I assure you. Really not worth your time or effort that one."

Sealand continued to giggle to himself at the thought of his parents. They were such nice people, it was hard not to laugh about, truly it was. But he stifled his laughter as best he could and looked up at Gilbert, though there were still many traces of his joy still staining his face.

"I'd stay there if I was you. The camera will catch you if you move from there. It is a pleasure to meet you Gilbert! What brings you to my little room today? Would you like to play a game or something?"

Sealand tottered on his toes, looking at his guest expectantly.

He watched the kid warily. He was an energetic thing, had the high possibility of being annoying. It was still better than anything else at the moment, though for how long he'd be able to stay interested, was anyone's guess.

At the mention of the camera, he glanced up, seeking it out, and grinned when he spotted it. Half-tempted to move out of his spot to grab it attention and wave. He bit it back for a moment, figuring that they'd notice him gone soon, and come looking for him.

Gilbert was known to start fights, or harass nurses, so they didn't let him out of sight for long. Unless it was to lock him up in his room for a while. It was a sure thing they would come looking, and eventually, someone would notice that their keys were missing.

"Sealand, then." He kept his grin, "Heard 'bout ya from the nurses, thought I'd come check out the new kid on the block." He looked the boy up and down a few times, "How old are you? Nine? Ten?"

"The nurses are already talking about me!?! I haven't even done anything yet! I guess my first move will have to be a big one. Don't want to disappoint you know!" Sealand tilted his head in wonder, he had a few ideas on what he would do first to get his name really spoken around this place. There were so many options!

It was only stopped from his musing at Gilbert's question. He looked up for a second, trying to register what the other had said. When it did register he smiled up and answered.

"I turned 12 recently. And how only are you Gilly?"

He really grinned at the kid's words. Stirring up trouble would be sure to make things much more awesome around here. Though, he doubted the kid would get much attention. After all, Gilbert was still around, and no matter what the kid did, he'd never be able to top Gil in sheer Awesome. Just wasn't possible.

"Twelve, huh?" He paused, when the question was thrown back at him, "Twenty-two."

Glancing at the camera again, he strode purposefully across the room, and plopped down on the bed, grin still in place. "So, you're gonna cause trouble, huh? You're going to need a way out of the room for that."

Fishing around in his pocket, he pulled out the key, and held it up for Sealand to see. He wondered for a moment if the kid was dangerous or not. He'd been a handful himself at around that age, but truly dangerous? Hardly.

Glancing at the camera again, he stood up, and moved back towards the door, turning his back to it, he held he dropped the key by his foot, before leaning back against the hard surface. He kicked the key towards Sealand, "Have fun with that, huh? Do something awesome, and maybe I'll come back and visit again."

"Oh don't you worry, causing trouble is most definitely on my agenda."

Sealand watched as the key fell harmlessly to the floor. That would be useful. He was good at stirring up trouble without a key, but that would surely make it easier.

He cocked his head to the side and flashed Gilbert a bright smile. "I'm sure we'll be seeing each other soon then, Gilly. I hope you have fun out there~"

Grinning, and deciding he liked this kid quite a bit, he rested his hand on the doorknob. "Give them hell, Kid. I need something cool to watch."

He opened the door a crack, and peeked out. Seeing that no one was looking in his direction, he turned to give the kid one last wave. "Hope hear about ya soon."

With those words, he left the room, closing the door quietly behind himself. He stood in front of the door for a moment, shoving his hands into his pockets, and heading straight to the nurse's desk, so he could flirt, or maybe gather more interesting gossip.

Sealand continued to smile and wave until Gilbert was out of the room and his foot steps where retreating from his room. Only then did he stop and start whistling instead. He wandered over to the door, leaned against it and slid down it slowly. He reached over and picked up the key, smiling softly to himself.

"He's an interesting one, that one is. Bored obviously. Showy and egotistical, but still worth my time. He did bring me quite a wonderful present~!"

He fingered the key for a few more seconds memorizing the feel of it before slowly placing it in his sock.

Sealand bounced up from his spot on the floor and bounded back to the bed and flopped down on top of it.

"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry

"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."

PostSubject: Re: Room 317 - Peter Kirkland's Room   Room 317 - Peter Kirkland's Room Icon_minitimeWed Nov 24, 2010 6:36 am

His morning hadn't worked out as he might have hoped, but Hei assured himself that despite his not so wonderful start, the day would go well none the less. It was in his hands again, he didn't intend on running into Lan any time soon, and he was even assigned to escort a new patient to his first group therapy session. It was a refreshing way to follow up a day that started with Lan waking him unceremoniously at some ungodly hour. A new patient was a clean slate, someone new to learn about, and from how the nurses were gossiping this one was to be rather interesting. This one was located on the third floor, where they usually kept the violent offenders, but that wasn't cause for concern. Hei was young and Hei was confident he could take anything that came his way. Taking down a man twice his size on a weekly basis such as Francis or Mathias did that to a person.

He came up to room 317 and lightly rapt on the door. It was a dangerous practice - telling the patient that he was coming in so that they could potentially jump him - but to him a room, even here, was a person's personal domain, and permission needed to be at least acknowledged. A part of him hated working here simply because these people were treated like crazies, people not capable of taking care of themselves, but on the contrary most of them could function normally, and only had one slight dysfunction, and Hei preferred to think of it like that. There was just one aspect of a patient they needed to sort out before they left. Granted, there were a few exceptions - Francis, who had been here longer than Hei had, and Mathias, who had broken his nose once and had stabbed him deeply another - but those repeat offenders and long term residents could not be compared to the others, there was no comparison.

When Hei heard nothing from the other side of the room he pulled out his key ring and found the room's key. He slipped it into the lock and turned, but the door did nothing. Hei frowned, he'd been working here long enough, and had numerous times where he had to unlock doors quickly, so he knew very well how to open these locks. Pulling out his key for a second Hei wrapped his hand around the knob and turned. To his surprise the door opened without any sort of fuss. The guard trained his face not to show his surprise, but the fact worried him. Had someone over looked locking the door? All third floor patients doors always remained locked, it was a common rule, anyone who had been here more than a week would have known that -you only ever let Francis out on his own once before never doing it again. So why was the door unlocked? He would have to look into it.

Despite his curiosity Hei's face showed nothing of his worry, and he turned to face the rooms resident.

PostSubject: Re: Room 317 - Peter Kirkland's Room   Room 317 - Peter Kirkland's Room Icon_minitimeWed Nov 24, 2010 7:08 am

That morning every time someone had walked by Sealand had been poised on the room's bed, legs swinging and eyes excited. Most of those foot steps save for Gilly had not been for him, and they'd wandered off just as quickly as they'd come. He'd experimented as well, when one would walk by he'd scream and yell, when another went by he'd whimper and cry, and for some he had banged on the doors and wailed in pain. No responses. It was safe to say that no one could hear anything he did in his room. His only companion was the camera's little red light. Sealand was sure that one day it would mock him, and he'd move all of the rooms possessions so that he could claw it from the ceiling and break it into a million pieces, and then drown it in the sink or in the tub, but for now it was a comfort of sorts. Sealand liked being watched most days. Ensured that someone was taking care of him. It was nice, for now.

But at around mid day sometime - Sealand didn't have a clock or even a window, so all of his times were a guess- someone had come to his door that did not continue on. The person instead knocked on the door, which in and of itself was strange. Who could it be? A young doctor hoping to seem approachable? Perhaps. He'd have to set this one straight one of these days, but today was not that day. It was still his very first day out of many at this new asylum. There was no need to go rushing things just yet. He'd humor this person for now, it might even be enjoyable.

The sound of a key softly scraping against the inside of a lock came to Sealand's ear, and he giggled when he heard the lock refuse to give. He'd forgotten that, the room had been open ever since Gilly has opened it early that morning shortly after he'd arrived. It was a slight mistake all the same, but it was one Sealand could easily over look or lie his way out of.

The door opened to reveal someone Sealand had not expected. It was a guard, or at least Sealand thought it was. This was obviously not a senior guard though, he was a small man with an imposing look on his face, but he didn't look opposing in the slightest. A part of him was insulted, but Sealand pushed down that part of himself and told it to bide its time, there would be opportunities if he did not blow this now. He didn't notice the impressive muscles that adorned the guards arms, they were easily hidden by his uniform.

Offering the guard a bright smile Sealand swung his feet energetically.

"Hullo! Whats your name?"

It was a brat. A kid that looked no older than 10. Somehow, Hei felt that insulting; if he hadn't assigned the schedule himself he would have been cussing out his superiors, but seeing as he was the superior that left him in quite a pickle. There was no one to blame for this, he should be escorting Natalia, or someone that required him, not some wide eyed brat. And why was this kid on this particular floor? Hei rarely took the time to go over patient's records - he had enough to do already - but surely this had to be some mistake. A child did not belong in the violent offenders floor.

Despite the outrage playing out in his head Hei kept his thoughts to himself and his face cold and aloof. He was a professional, and he would do what he had alloted himself.

"You are scheduled in the Group Therapy room at 1:00 PM. My name is Wang Hei, I am to escort you, Peter Kirkland." His voice sounded as chilly and professional as he wanted it, you had to be strict the first month or so, or they'd never respect you. Once respect was gained you could ease up a little, let them get away with more. Peter was new here and Hei wasn't going to give him any slack even if he looked like he needed someone to wipe his nose. Hei waited at the door, he wouldn't force Peter out of the room if he came on his own, but force was definitely an option if the boy chose to be stubborn.

How rude this fellow was! There was no need to be so stand offish! This guard, as Sealand had first thought, was obviously new at this job. He was all rigid edges and stormy faces. It really wasn't becoming on him at all. After his rigid introduction Hei, as he called himself waited by the door for him to move, and Sealand saw no reason to deny his unspoken request. Though, some playfulness seemed in order to lighten this man's harsh complexion.

"Hey, little diddle, Hey little hoo,
Thats your name Sir? Hey Ha Ho~!"

Sealand softly sung to himself as he jumped off the bed and skipped over to the waiting guard, smiling and giggling at the man. This might be a very enjoyable place after all.

It wasn't the first time some ignorant foreigner had mucked up his name or made fun of it, so Hei didn't allow his temper to raise or his face to change in its rigid consistency. Though, if he was being truthful with himself, it was very annoying. The name issue never ceased to annoy him, because despite how much flack he got for it in this country, he rather liked it. He almost wished that the child had refused to come, so that he could drag the stupid brat away kicking and screaming. But that didn't quite happen. The little pest bounded over with nary a care, and waited patiently -still singing mind you- to be taken away.

Hei wouldn't admit that he grabbed the child a little harsher than was necessary. He would admit to taking the child in hand and 'leading' him away from the room.

As he hauled the child away, Hei couldn't help but think how better his time could be spent. He'd have to assign this job to someone else. He didn't get paid this much to look after annoying pesky brats. He was the supervisor, he would simply make someone else do it from now on. Besides, despite being annoying, Hei didn't expect much trouble from this child. He'd give it a week before he finalized a move to a less demanding floor, but he'd get the paperwork on it started in a few days.

The unlocked door he'd first taken note of when entering the room, seemed to have slipped his mind entirely.
