| The time was 4:43 AM and Hei was just defeating a giant snake monster so that he could sell it in his shop on the Gama server of Hetalia World. Managing a small online business was harder than it looked, but he was surely up to the task. Micromanaging was a sort of pastime. As he hacked away at the monster he reached over and snagged a piece of greasy pizza. He looked at it for a moment in disgust before taking a bite any way. Just as he did the monster struck at him with a exceptionally strong blow. His health bar flashed and Hei dropped his piece of pizza in surprise.
"Fuck!!"
Quickly he was dashing to the computer with both hands and ran through his item lists as fast as he could, searching for something that would heal his now flashing health bar. When he fond nothing he groaned and high tailed it out of the area, cursing as he went. Once he was back in the main town he flopped his head in unhappiness and sighed. It was the third time he'd tried to take out that monster and it had gotten away from him. He thought of just abandoning the idea, but the thought of getting so much money for selling the hide made him reconsider.
Taking a look at the time Hei hmph'd to himself again. He had a shift in two hours. Quickly he checked his sales for the day and logged out of the game. He cycled through the various camera feeds coming from patients rooms one last time for the night as he stretched and retrieved his night clothes. Nothing amiss. He was headed to the bathroom to change when he stepped on something squishy.
Hei closed his eyes in unhappiness, then gazed down at the forlorn piece of pizza he had half eaten, now making a mess of his foot. Wonderful. He'd have to shower before he went to sleep now and he'd have to clean up the floor in the morning.
Mumbling to himself he picked up the piece of pizza and placed it in the trash can. He retrieved a paper towel from nearby and whipped off his foot before making his way over to the hot water dispenser and poured himself a cup of hot water and placed some tea into it. A nice cup of tea would be nice right before bed.
A quick shower later found Hei in his bed, cup of tea in hand watching one of his favorite old kung fu movies. The main hero was just about to meet the love of his life when Hei fell asleep, the cup of tea sitting on the floor and the laptop shoved to the side of the bed.
OOC feel free to come in and bug him or something. Or else he might come bug YOU!

| It was early, but Lan was already finishing her rounds. She was finishing a bit earlier than usual, for she was quite hungry and only allowed herself to eat once she'd finished her first set of rounds. She'd grabbed her bag with a lovely bánh mì for breakfast, the soy sauce and onions smelling quite strong as she made a beeline for the staff room, where she could warm and eat the food she'd so happily made herself for breakfast. Of course, she could always warm her phở, and the rare beef, hoisen sauce, and sriracha sauce...
Lan nearly began to drool, and started to rush.
The only thing that slowed her was the sounds coming from the Security Room. She stopped outside of the door, and leaned close to listen. She could hear the movie, could hear the women and men speaking Chinese (What dialect, she never could tell...it all sounded strange, and she'd never really had much of a desire to learn it) Of course, she knew who was in there. She knew it was Hei, her fellow coworker from Asia. She'd almost made it a goal to know him, as she had done in school with the other students from the countries near her home. Her coworker, however, had been better off...he'd had the luxury to be born in Hong Kong, of all places, rather than a secluded Vietnamese rice farm.
And with that seemed to come his strangely nocturnal behavior. He was always awake in that messy little room, all those monitors far too bright in far too dark a room for her own comfort. It was almost Lan's goal, to make sure he rests and tidies up after himself.
She knocked on the door, figuring that her breakfast can wait just a bit longer. "Hei?" She called. "Open up, Hei." |

| Hei was in the peaceful land of slumber when a knock came to his door. He groaned to himself and brought the blankets up ovr his head in some attempt to keep to keep the noise away. But the laptop was on the bed, keeping the blankets from covering his head entierly, and Hei moaned again. Sleep, was definitly the most important thing right now, so he ignored the slight discomfort.
It was shortly after the knock that the voice came as well. The instant Hei heard Lan's voice his eyes flew open. He mumbled a soft 'Diu' and jumped from the bed at an alarming rate. If he didn't answer soon, that woman would come in and find him passed out, and he didn't want to be anywhere in the vacinity of Lan when he was not aware of the situation.
He stumbled to the door, almost tripping over various things and knocking over a few items here and there, but mostly unscathed. He yanked the door open, but stopped abruptly before it was open even a few centimeters. He was still in his sleep clothes, and he did not want her seeing that. Hei tried to flatten hout his hair for a second, then poked half of his head out of the door. He also did not want her looking at the state of the room. He had been planning on cleaning it today, and it was not exactly as presentable as he would like
"Morning Lan..." Hei cursed inwardly that he still sounded half asleep, but disregarded it.

| Lan frowned at his voice. He sounded unmistakably like he had just woken up, which should not be right. He should have been awake and watching the cameras, for the patients were either already awake, or were waking. It wouldn't be safe if the person looking over the cameras was sleeping, he couldn't see if any of the patients setting up a potentially dangerous situation for the nurses and doctors...and, of course, it bothered her when he slept in, for everyone else had to work just that much harder to make up for his inattentiveness to the cameras.
"Hei, how long have you been asleep? And when did you go to bed, for that matter?" She asks...no, demands, for she expected a certain answer. She crossed her arms after setting down her bag.
Lan gave him a stare, then tried to peer around him assess to the state of his room. Silently, she cursed her short height; she could only see half his face and his shoulder, and could not see over it. Though, with this suspicious behavior, she assumed it was dirty. After a moment, she grew frustrated and grabbed the door handle to push the door open.
"Let me in for a moment, I'm quite tired. I just finished my rounds and my legs are a bit sore." It was a lie, but she wanted to see inside. |

| Hei was hesitant to answer her question. He could lie, surely he could, but if he was caught the punishment would be brutal, and he was not looking forward to being beaten up by a such a petite woman. He settled for a less deceitful answer.
"I'm not really sure. I don't remember checking the time..." It was a lie, but a smaller one!
When Lan's face soured and she tried to look over his shoulder he knew there was going to be trouble. There was no way he wanted her seeing inside the room, it was not a good idea. She gripped the door knob and he quickly did the same to the opposite side of the door. In a bout of all out strength he could best her, but she was still not a woman to be trifled with.
"Uh, I'm not..decent yet! Ya. I've been up for a while, but I haven't showered or anything, I was just about to! And I would feel really, really uncomfortable if you in the room while I was showering. Ha ha...How about I meet you in the staff room for some tea?"

| The answers didn't please Lan. She let go of the doorknob and stepped back, crossing her arms and thinking of a way she could get him to open the door...though, if he really wasn't decent, then she did not want to barge in. While she was, to some extent, tomboyish, she still wasn't a man, nor his wife, and therefore did not want to intrude on his morning routines. She allowed him his privacy in his room, for now. However, she was sure that later on she'd have to stop by to check on him again.
"A while...you sound and look like you just rolled out of bed. How long was this while, a few minutes? I passed a few rooms and heard the patients moving around, so you should have awake and ready already. I suppose I can forgive you, though. You're awake now." She pauses, and looks at him. "Also, turn off that movie. It's distracting, and the Chinese hurts my ears."
She turned on her heel, and started off, before stopping. "I expect that you'll be there soon? I won't be happy if I'm left to wait for too long." |

| There was no way this plan was going to work. Lan was just going to break down the door, see the state of the room, and murder him. The asylum would count it as a hazard of the job and that would be it. No more awesome security guard Hei. No late night gaming no geeking over the computer, no more running off to the gym in his free time, just a large bloody stain on the floor. Hei was expecting this. Had expected this since meeting Lan, because Lan was one of those women that any intelligent man such as himself did not mess with. Only the stupid one's would challenge her, and they would pay for their insolence. It was only a matter of time, and Hei prayed that today would be another lucky day, that he would escape with his head still attached.
After a few tense moments, Lan seemed to ease off of the door, but Hei didn't relax. That was to easy. He listened attentively to what she was saying, but chose not to comment. She knew what was going on, and he knew what was going on. She just didn't want the risk of him being nude or something behind this door. What ever the reason, Hei was thankful, and didn't chose to dig his hole deeper by answering her.
Instead he waited till he heard her start to walk away. Now that was a good sign. He eased up on the door, only to have her explain that he would be in the staff room very shortly. He waited till he couldn't hear her footsteps any longer, than tentatively he released the door, took a deep breath -inhale, exhale- and started moving around the room in a furious whirlwind, disposing of trash and cleaning up as quickly as he could.
After about 15 minutes the room looked much better, though the clutter still remained. No matter how hard Hei tried, the clutter never seemed to go away. Surveying the room, Hei decided that he probably wouldn't be skinned alive for this. With a look of accomplishment on his face he turned on his heals and headed for the shower. He did need to be presentable for his co-worker.
