| If you think you're under dressed, poorly prepared and out of place, you have probably stepping in to Dr. Honda's office. It is immaculate, spacious, and imposing. This is where he sees most patients, and he has been know to throw small parties for those who's presence he rather enjoys. The numbers are always small. Incense can often me smelt permeating through out the room.

| Dr. Honda spent the day much like he always did. He found some poor cleaning lady roaming the halls and had her come in and clean his office. With his strict supervision. Today it had been one of the new girls, a young thing that had stated she needed the money for her ailing mother, or some other such nonsense. He'd had her clean the room, as he had stated and sent her on her way with a smile and a wave.
He would seek her out once more in a weeks time, and if she had not improved on her time by then he would simply have to let her go. She'd done an alright job of it, but two hours was far to long for her to be taking.
Either way, it was not anything of great concern, he had other duties to attend to. His second order of business for the day was to make sure that all the paperwork he'd finished the night before was organized in the proper place, with the proper signatures. He'd learned many years ago that despite his tendency to work late on such things, organizing was a task he had best leave for the morning, when he was less likely to mistakenly place something.
After that was done, Dr. Honda made his way to his office chair in front of his desk and leaned back for a few seconds, gazing up at the ceiling. After a time doing that Dr. Honda straightened himself and rolled his shoulders. The strain he'd accumulated from years of sitting at a desk, no matter how soft, took its tole on his shoulders, and he found that regular movement seemed to help somewhat.
He looked over at his desk, and straightened the pen that lay in wait for him there. Dr. Honda only ever used one pen, and it always stayed in that one spot unless in use. Taking a brief look at his wrist watch, he hoisted himself up and out of the chair, moving to a small hall table on the edge of the room. Once there he reached down into one of the tables drawers to produce a stick of incense and a match. He took great care in placing the intense into a large vase and then struck the match to light it. Once finished he disposed of the used match and placed the rest back in the drawer of the small table, before moving back across the room and taking his seat.
It took a good ten minutes before he could smell the sultry scent that the incense gave off, but once it had permeated through out the room Dr. Honda took in a deep, relaxing breath. This was indeed the ideal way to start the day.

| Feliks had known it would only be a matter of time before he was forced into some mode of therapy. A day didn’t go by where they didn’t try something to fix whatever it was they thought was wrong with him and he dreaded all of it.
That morning, he was supposed to have his first appointment with his new doctor. At least it wasn’t group… The group therapy sessions made him extremely nervous. Being forced to sit there and answer embarrassing questions in front of a room of people who genuinely were insane. Not like him. He wasn’t crazy, just a little uneasy around people he didn’t know. And as for that bi-polar diagnosis, well Feliks thought that was a load. Like being happy or sad was a crime in this country. Take a hard enough look at anybody and you’d find something to diagnose them with. Whatever happened to just being different?
No one seemed to have any appreciation for unique personalities anymore. Just plain, cookie-cutter, color-inside-the-lines types got away without being given these medical labels… How lame was that?
He’s been escorted to the hallway where the doctor’s office was located and the orderly had pointed him in the right direction. As of now, Feliks wasn’t listed as one of the patients who required a great deal on monitoring – he wasn’t a suicide risk and he was unlikely to try escape – so the orderly had figured Feliks could be trusted to walk down the hall by himself while he went about his other tasks. That crossword puzzle probably demanded a lot of his attention.
Feliks had taken his time walking to the office and upon reaching it, he hesitated outside. He was not looking forward to this. Looking at the name on the door, he saw that not only was this a doctor he had never met before, not even in passing, but it seemed he was also one of the bigwigs. That was…rather intimidating. He frowned for a moment, fingering the hem of his fabulous mint green tunic top. He also had on a pair of skinny jeans and his favorite brown belt. He knew he pulled the ensemble off perfectly. He’d always had a flair for putting outfits together and he loved to look his best, but he wasn’t sure this doctor would appreciate his particular taste. Kiku Honda sounded like an Asian name. Feliks worried that he might be one of those old world traditional types. That kind of person never seemed to understand Feliks well…
What were they doing sending a charity case like him to someone with this much authority anyway? Surely they didn’t think he was worth that?
…did they find out he had been cheeking his pills?
He chewed his lip worriedly. Was that why they were sending him to the higher ups? Was he in trouble? Damn… all this fuss over him not wanting to take a little medicine. He sighed. Might as well get this over with. No way was he going to get away with blowing off the boss of the place if he decided to try and skip off. Plus, on the off chance that he wasn’t in trouble, he surely would be then. He raised a fist and rapped lightly on the door, opening it slowly when he was given the go ahead to enter.

| Kiku's first patient of the day was a new one. After his admittance to the asylum, young Felix had been promptly diagnosed and medicated under Dr. Braginski's care. When he'd first come in Kiku had not wasted his time with looking at his file extensively. The man was poor as can be, and with a few problems around the edges that should have been highly treatable Kiku had expected him to be in and out of these walls in no time. There was no court order keeping him here for life, and he had no funds of his own. Felix, was a charity case, and Kiku made a point of only taking charity cases he thought could be turned into decent PR when they were released, and he had every intent of getting those taken care of and then out into the world as quickly as possible. There was no use in wasting the money on a patient that wasn't giving back to the institute.
Obviously Dr. Braginski did not share his views, and it might become an issue he'd have to bring up with the doctor in the future. But that would be for later. Kiku had over ridden Dr. Braginski's control of the situation, and taken Felix on himself. If this patient was as difficult as Dr. Braginski had seemed to think, then Kiku would find that out very quickly and deal with the situation accordingly. But absolutely nothing in Felix's file made him believe that the other was of any harm, or needed to be in the asylum for any prolonged length of time. Kiku wasn't even sure that he needed to be medicated, it seemed horribly unnecessary and expensive.
After about an hour of combing through Felix's file Kiku was entirely displeased at how this patient had been handled so far. Granted, he was a charity case, and minimal funds should be spent on him, but it couldn't be apparent to the patient. How the hell were they going to get decent PR and prestige if they treated this turn around patient like dirt? No, this was not the type of establishment he ran. Felix was not going to be here forever, and thus did not deserve the treatment he had thus been given. He would have to look into Dr. Braginski's other patients, if errors had been done in this case, it was likely that they had been repeated and this was simply his first time of actually catching it.
Kiku was deep in thought about how he was going to go about this situation when there was a soft knock on his door. Expecting that was indeed Felix, Kiku offered a soft 'come in' and closed the file. He had confidence that he was well briefed enough his newest patient that he wouldn't need to look at it again.

| Feliks poked his head in first, which was hesitantly followed by the rest of him. He blinked, going slightly wide-eyed as he took in the expansive and intimidating office. It was by far the most impressive room he had seen so far – easily four of five times the size of his own small room and so lavishly decorated that it seemed more like the den of a movie star’s home than a doctor’s office. If he had been more the sour grapes type, Feliks would have scoffed at how exorbitant the place was and what a waste of funds it must have been. But Feliks had a great appreciation for style, and this office had that in spades.
There was the heavy scent of incense in the air and it was almost enough to make the Pole’s head swim. He’d gotten so used to the smells of the hospital – the strong pine-scented stuff they used on the floors, the disinfectant, the odors wafting in from the kitchen – that this new powerful smell was nearly overwhelming. He was probably going to get a headache if this appointment lasted too long.
Across the room, seated at the desk was the man who could only be the doctor. As Feliks had guessed, he was Asian, though he was younger than he had expected. Really, the doctor didn’t look that much older than Feliks was himself, though he had the serious expression of an older man. His desk was meticulously neat and seemed very business oriented. Felix figured he was probably one of those obsessive workaholic types. All structure and no nonsense. Though at least he wasn’t nearly as huge and imposing as Dr. Braginski had been. That was a definite plus.
He let the door shut behind him and stepped slowly towards the desk, letting his eyes scan the room rather than the doctor himself. The over-the-top office was such a contrast to the rest of the building that he almost felt as if he had left the hospital all together. Which was really not a bad feeling. No, not at all. He relaxed slightly, though he was still guarded and nervous. Stepping up to the desk, he took the seat opposite the doctor and finally looked up at him, waiting for him to say something.

| Kiku watched as the young man, who looked rather feminine by his standards, cautiously wandered into the room. He was a pretty thing, that was sure. He obviously took the time to present himself as such, which could be a good thing to focus on at one point. Kiku watched quietly as the young man took in the majesty of his office. Kiku did enjoy watching the faces of people who had never been into his office before. It was a slight thrill, but one he would never admit to.
In Felix's wandering he finally found Kiku, perched at his desk, and though the blond did seem to shrink some, it seemed at a manageable level. Felix didn't need instruction before slowly making his way towards one of the chairs in front of his office and sitting down. The young man looked at him expectantly, obviously wanting him to start their interactions.
"Hello. My name is Doctor Kiku Honda, you may call me Doctor, or Dr. Honda, either is fine. Now, I have a file with your name on it in my desk, but we are both here for you. Why don't you introduce yourself to me." It was not a request, though it was friendly, and soft enough to seem like one.

| He swallowed hard and stared down at his feet. Sure, this Doctor Honda sounded friendly enough, but there was a firmness behind his statement that seemed to reinforce the fact that he was unquestionably the one in charge. He exuded authority, even with his calm and light tone. Though Feliks supposed he could just be paranoid as well… He had a tendency to be uneasy around people who held his fate in their hands. Though he had to admit that his name wasn’t an unreasonable request.
“Ah…F-Feliks,” he muttered as he chewed his lip. He hated being put on the spot, being made to talk when he didn’t feel like it. He wished the doctor would just lecture him or counsel him or whatever it was he intended to do and just let him go back to his room. He felt rather exposed under the doctor’s gaze and didn’t feel inclined to meet it again. His hands curled at his sides against the cushy chair and his eyebrows furrowed in his discomfort. He wanted to leave, to get away from the doctor, from the awkwardness, from the smell of that stupid incense… He wondered if that stuff was supposed to make him more relaxed or more anxious. It was hard to tell. He didn’t know how Doctor Honda operated yet.
Couldn’t they just move on and get this over with?
Feliks frowned heavily and gave a fleeting glance in the doctor’s direction before returning his eyes to the floor. “So…You’re like, my new doctor or something?” he asked in an effort to encourage things to move along. He wasn’t in anyway unhappy about no longer seeing Dr. Braginski. But he would rather see no doctor at all if given the choice.

| Kiku watched carefully as Feliks seemed to flounder for words. When he finally found his voice, it was only to utter his name softly before sinking down into himself again. He was obviously uncomfortable, and perhaps he had a right to be. That was a problem they'd have to work out.
"I have your name now, thank you for that. But you have not yet done what I asked of you. I would like a self introduction. Tell me about yourself Feliks."
Kiku imagined that Felix wouldn't like that much, and that he'd curl into himself more so than he already was, but it was a step that Kiku was not going to skip for the patients comfort. As far as he was concerned, this was in Feliks best interest, even if the other obviously was not excited about it.
"I'll answer your question when you have complied with my request." Kiku smiled softly at that and waited for Feliks to respond. This could be a very long session if it took Feliks a long time to speak with him honestly.

| Oh, it was one of those sessions, was it? Talk about yourself, tell us why you think you’re here, wait while we judge your answers and make notes in your file about what drugs you should be on and how many group sessions you need this week. Feliks despised these. He never knew what to say. If he told the truth, they usually thought he was crazy or pathetic. Well, they didn’t actually say that, but Feliks could guess as much based on their expressions. And Feliks didn’t know enough about what they wanted to hear to lie effectively. He always got called out on it and then labeled as “resistant to therapy,” which was undoubtedly true, but a negative stamp none the less.
But for once, Feliks felt he had something of a step up. If the doctor was bothering with the getting-to-know-you step, then he must indeed be the Pole’s new doctor. Feliks often came off as space (which he was), but he wasn’t without any intuition. So if Feliks could already figure out the answer to his question, this tit-fo-tat didn’t have to fly if he didn’t want it to. That sense of control, however slight it may be, did give him a bit more confidence.
If he refused to answer, or dilly-dallied about it, it would draw this meeting out, which Feliks didn’t want at all. He was tempted to be sassy, tell the doctor to just refer to his notes, but he resisted that urge. If he made a bad initial impression, the doctor might hold him here out of spite. He drew his legs up and sat cross-legged on the cushy chair and sighed before speaking, making hesitant eye contact with his doctor.
“I, like, don’t really know what you wanna hear…” he began, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. “I came from Warsaw, I’m totally broke, and they, like, sent me here ‘cause they think I’m anxious or something. The ‘bi-polar Pole’ or whatever.” He let his hand fall heavily on his lap. “It’s total trash. Like people aren’t allowed to be excitable in this country…” He frowned and turned his gaze from the doctor to a random spot on the wall off to the side. He wasn’t sure if he was making a mistake by saying all this, but whatever, he was already started. “This is, like, not what I expected when I came to America. The movies are totally misleading, yeah? This place kinda sucks so far.”

| Kiku noticed the twinkle in Feliks eye. Something, had occurred to him, and that had changed the nature of the game in his eyes. Perhaps he wasn't as stupid as his file implied. That would be, refreshing, to say the least. The stupid ones were always boring, and everyone needed some excitement in life, even good old Dr. Honda.
It did take Feliks a while to figure out what he wanted to say, which could be taken a number of ways. His file had indicated that Feliks could be a rapid fire talker when the mood hit him, or he could brood and say nothing, so this sort of sitting could mean their session would be much longer than either really wanted. But the ball was in Feliks's court, and good old Dr. Honda was not going to let him off the hook any time soon just because Feliks didn't want to talk.
So Kiku waited, and thankfully it wasn't long until Feliks started talking. The spark was still in his eyes, and it was probably making him say what he was, but it had diminished somewhat. He was still asserting himself in a way that Kiku found very positive, but he was nervous about it. That was a quirk they'd have to work out.
Kiku fought down the laugh that bubbled in his throat at the 'broke' part. Oh how well he knew that one. But he did offer a smile at the general reference to America. Kiku had gotten along quite well in the country, but it did have its faults.
"Yes, well. Americans are always willing to sing its praises, but never to its short comings. Now, Feliks, I have another question for you. Since this is a sort of exchange, and you have answered mine, you are allowed to ask me a question before I go on. Is that something you'd like to do?"
He wasn't sure if Feliks would take the bait, or if he would just allow Kiku to ask him all he wanted. Either had the potential to extend this visit, and the young Pole definitely wanted this over as soon as possible, that much Kiku could gather on his own.

| Did he have any questions? Feliks had to think about that. He’d already figured out that Dr. Honda was his new psychiatrist, so there was no point in wasting a question on that. And he had to wonder why this new doctor was giving him the chance to ask a question in the first place. Dr. Braginski had never let him ask questions. He wondered whether he should be suspicious of this or not. This Dr. Honda was a bit difficult to read which made it harder for Feliks to guess how to behave around him.
But there was an obvious question that came to the Pole’s mind. He somehow doubted he would get a straight answer to it, so it probably wasn’t worth asking at all. Still….
He fidgeted with the hem of his lime green tunic once again, rubbing the fabric between his fingertips and staring down at the favorable way in which it contrasted with his own skin tone. He liked this top. It was comfortable and flattering and went well with his eyes. But then there wasn’t anything in his wardrobe that didn’t look good on him, because what was the point of clothes that weren’t as asthetically pleasing as possible? Well…except for the standard issue stuff he’d been given upon arrival at the asylum. But he only wore that when he had no other choice. Such as when his wardrobe privileges were taken away or when Toris wasn’t the one tending to him, since the other staff members were less inclined to unlock the closet for him. But today he’d put together quite the nice outfit. He really should add more of this color to his collection as soon as he got the chance.
He realized quite suddenly that his mind had completely wandered away and he gave himself a mental slap to get back on tract. He didn’t need to be spacing out in front of the man who controlled his freedom. Not that he had anywhere to go once he was out of here… He bit his lip, figuring that he could play off that mental holiday as him having been considering what question to ask. So rather than prolong the silence by considering the most useful thing he could ask, he posed the question that had first occurred to him, even if he doubted he would get a real answer out of it. “So…like, what do you plan to do with me? Keep me here or, like, put me back on the streets?” Saying the words aloud, Feliks realized he didn’t know which option was less appealing. He hated the lack of freedom he had here, the insane people that he had to share his space with, being told what to do… But at least he had food and a bed here as well as a degree of safety. His horrible options were quite depressing when they were presented as such.

| Oh yes, Feliks certainly was not as stupid as everything in his file seemed to imply. That was certainly refreshing. This could be a fun case after all. Feliks did seem the type to...amuse him, if nothing else.
Kiku smiled at Feliks before answering. “As you know, you have come to us with your clothing and little else. It would be irresponsible of us to simply toss you back to the unforgiving streets, but it doesn't serve us any purpose to keep you here forever either. My goal with you, as I'm sure you might have already guessed, is rehabilitation. As ugly as that word truly is, give me another second of your time to explain. That means that when I deem you ready, we will arrange a job for you, and a place for you to stay so that you can get on your own feet. It is not this institutes goal to lock you up forever, because you are surely not beyond hope. You are not a deviant, nor a danger to yourself or those around you. I see no reason to keep you here indefinitely.”
Kiku let that sink in for a few minutes. He liked to be honest with patients every now and then. It changed the game some times, and certain patients really needed new games to play. Maybe Feliks was one of those patients. Kiku certainly hoped so.
“And now I believe it is my turn. Feliks, do you know what medication you are currently taking? Has that been disclosed to you at all?”

| He listened as the doctor spoke, nodding at his initial words and then going still as he focused more intently. The idea of rehabilitation, of being given a job and a place to stay that was neither hospital nor homeless shelter, had never occurred to him as a possibility. Dr. Braginski certainly never spoke of such an option. The Russian had never paid complement to him either. Being told one was not a hopeless case or a deviant was hardly what most would consider a compliment, but it was the probably the kindest thing said to Feliks since his arrival here, not counting his talks with Toris. He wasn’t sure how to feel about it and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He was still suspicious of doctors. One meeting was hardly enough to decide if this one was to be trusted or not. Did he really mean what he said? Or was this just some scheme to get Feliks to open up? He didn’t know. But it wasn’t like he had many other options at the moment. He had no plan himself. Maybe… maybe he should give this a shot? On the off chance the doctor did mean to get him started on his way to a productive American life? It wasn’t like he had anything to lose. If Dr. Honda was leading him on, then the Pole would be no worse off when he caught on to it.
Besides, the doctor was essentially offering to help Feliks with what he had come to this country for in the first place. To start a self-sufficient life. To live the American dream he had heard so much about. To not have to go crawling back home and admit he was a failure.
Maybe this country didn’t suck so much after all.
His mind was running away with the possibilities again. What sort of job could the institution get him? Probably nothing glamorous, but if it was something where he could build his skills, then he could climb the career ladder from there. Maybe he could get something in fashion, like a department store job. He could perfect his English and work for a magazine maybe. Or even save up some money and go to school. If he could just get his foot in the door somewhere, he could do the rest himself, he was sure of it.
His runaway thought train almost prevented him from catching Dr. Honda’s next words. “Uh…” He drew a blank. He’d been told the names of the medicine, but he always forgot what they were called. Since he never actually took them, he didn’t really bother to pay attention to what they were. He knew the schedule, though. “Like…Depa-something in the morning and night. That’s my mood medicine. And they give me something for anxiety at night. To like, help me sleep, I guess.”

| Kiku could see the wheels spinning as Feliks considered his words. The blond was analyzing them, looking for some hint that Kiku was in some way lying to him. Kiku really didn't give him enough time to think it over before asking his question, and when Feliks startled at the question, Kiku smiled pleasantly.
When Feliks shrugged, looked flustered, and gave some sort of response Kiku reached down into his desk. He produced a folder, the one with Felik's name right over the top of it. The one will all of his mood swings, Dr. Braginski's personal notes, the notes of the intern that attended Felik's daily. The entirety of everything they knew about Feliks was in this little folder, but Kiku had learned long ago that paper could lie sweeter than any lips.
The smile lingered, but only slightly as he opened the file. He peered down at the paper, lifting his glasses from his face so that it would be easier to read.
"Propranolol for Hypertension in the mornings and Paroxetine in the evening for your various 'anxieties'." Kiku spoke plainly, before shuffling the folder to the side and leaning back in his chair, gracefully placing his glasses back on his head.
"According to the rules you're allowed to ask me another question before I ask you mine."

| He watched warily as the folder was pulled out. Feliks knew that file well. He’d seen it stretched open across Dr. Braginski’s desk or tucked under Toris’s arm or in the hands of any random nurse or orderly. Even if he wasn’t able to clearly see his name written across the top of it, Feliks felt he would probably be able to recognize it by its thickness and the colored tabs that stuck out from the side. He didn’ t like that folder. It’s where the notes and judgments about him were kept. Even though he was sure Doctor Honda would have read it cover to cover, probably, he still felt that it being out was a bad thing, almost like it would somehow affect his chances of getting out of here if the doctor read it carefully enough.
It wasn’t really the parts in it about anxiety and mood swings that made Feliks nervous. It was the comments about hi s choice in clothing. Feliks had always been very proud of his sense of style and saw nothing wrong with wearing what would stereotypically be thought of as women’s clothes. They looked good on him and he felt confident while wearing them, and that was all that mattered. But others here didn’t agree with that. He recalled terms like ‘gender identity problems’ and ‘homosexuality’ being mention in regard to him, though Feliks felt neither was the case. He’d even heard an orderly muttering “Pervert” in regard to him. Feliks didn’t like any of these labels. How he dressed didn’t mean that he wanted to be a woman, nor did it mean his was gay (he really had no set sexual preference), it just meant that he liked the clothes and enjoyed wearing them. Was that so hard for people to understand?
He wondered how this Doctor Honda felt about such things. Probably disapproved, just like most others here. He looked the stern, traditional type and probably thought that Feliks’ tendencies were abnormal at best.
He shuffled uncomfortably in his seat as Dr. Honda read off his medication. Now that the names were being said aloud, he did recognize them. His meds had been changed around often enough that even if he were actually taking them and had an interest in what they were, he would probably still have a hard time remembering them.
At least he was glad to see that folder being closed and moved aside.
He shuffled again and turned his gaze from the doctor to the floor. Did he have anymore questions? He had to think for a moment. “Um…. So like, since you don’t think I’m as crazy as Big Bad Braginski did, does that mean I don’t have to go to group?” He hoped it did. Feliks hated group therapy. Everyone else here seemed to be completely off their rocker. Between that creepy kid who always seemed to be singing and that chick who was constantly trying to stab people, Feliks really would go crazy if he had to associate with them too much.

| Kiku could see Feliks watching him. The minute that file came out, Feliks was quite on edge about the situation. It wasn't that surprising, most patients didn't like that they were simply a file, in a cabinet to this institution. It was something that really shouldn't have bothered them, but usually did. Kiku was not below using this tactic to his benefit, and on quite a few occasions, it had worked just as he'd expected. It was still hard to tell how it was going this time around, but Kiku was willing to take his chances.
It hadn't been a casual action to keep the file there on the table. It was something that would keep looking at Feliks until Kiku got what he wanted. The option was either his way, or what the file said they should do with young Feliks. By having the file still in plain sight, it would be easy to revert to what the book said, and a constant worry in the blonds mind.
At the new question, Kiku smiled softly - but in a friendly matter - and placed his glasses back over his eyes. He leaned back in his comfortable, plush chair, cocked his head, and pretended to think about that question. Best make it seem like he hadn't planned most of this. When he felt he had spent enough time on the subject, he turned his eyes back to Feliks and gave him a softer, sweeter smile.
"I'll make a deal with you, Feliks. If you answer my next question truthfully, then I, will not make you go to group therapy, ever, again. Do we have a deal?"

| The first thought that jumped into Feliks’ mind was What’s the catch? Because surely his ticket out of group therapy couldn’t be that easy. Just one question and he would never have to go back to group? It was too good to be true, far too good to be true. It must be a whopper of a question. And probably something that the doctor knew Feliks wouldn’t want to answer if he was dangling such a tasty prize in front of him.
He frowned suspiciously at Dr. Honda, peering intently at him and trying to search out some hint in his expression that would tell of what the man had up his sleeve. But the doctor wasn’t giving anything up that Feliks could detect. But it was true that he wasn’t the shrewdest of people. He had more sense than most gave him credit for, but it was still easy for things to slip his notice if he wasn’t focused enough.
Finally the Pole nodded, a slow and subtle movement. “Alright,” he answered. He shifted position again and brought his knees up in front of him, wrapping his arms around them and not letting his eyes wander from Dr. Honda. He didn’t dare let his hopes get too high about this. He had tried many times before to get out of group therapy and he had never had any luck. True that this was his first time trying with this guy, but Doctor’s tended to like the idea of group therapy as Feliks had seen. He braced himself for what he was sure would be a wholly unreasonable and impossible question, like what was the square root of the age of the universe or what was the real meaning of life or something like that.
Or even worse, some of those horribly invasive personal questions that doctors seemed to love.

| Kiku saw Feliks tense; how is shoulders edged upwards, the tilt of his chin as it angled downwards, and then up again as those beautiful green eyes of his scrutinized Kiku. Alarm bells should be going off in his head right around now, Kiku though. Feliks was not the fool his file made him out to be, so there was a possibility that he would outright refuse the proposal. In that case, Kiku would have to find a more imaginative way of getting Feliks to do what he wanted. But this was a game of trust for Feliks. Kiku was betting that though Feliks had absolutely no reason to trust him, that the blond would take the bait none the less. Besides, in Feliks's eyes, he'd likely be able to lie if he didn't want to answer the question accurately. But Kiku would punish him for such a thing. Feliks would be the one to chose how their interactions would continue.
Kiku continued to smile as Feliks squared his shoulders, and scrutinized Kiku before agreeing. Kiku leaned back in his chair, angeling his eyes at Feliks and cocking his head ever so slightly.
"Have you been taking your medication, Feliks?"

| That….That was a worse question than what Feliks had been imagining. He was expecting some impossible query which he could not possibly answer or an awkward or invasive question like ’Tell me about you past sexual experiences, for these may be key to your current issues’, as had been pulled on him before. But this question… There was no winning this.
He tried, belatedly, to keep his face impassive. Unfortunately, Feliks was quite expressive, so the answer to the question had been told before the Pole could even think about if he wanted to answer it at all. He sensed that the doctor had already known the answer before posing the question in the first place, but that didn’t make him feel any less stupid for undoubtedly giving the game away all together.
He lowered his head as if this could cover for the mistakes he’d already made, frowning. Now he was forced to make a decision. Did he want to bet on the doctor keeping his word and admit to not taking his medicine, or did he want to deny it and hope Dr. Honda couldn’t prove otherwise? This man before him seemed shrewd and calculating and reminded Feliks a bit of a child playing a game in which only he knew all the rules. The more the Pole thought on it, the more sure he was that Dr. Honda fully expected him to lie. Then he could spring his trap and Feliks would be stuck with both group therapy and forced meds. Which was a possibility anyway, but the blond didn’t like the idea of playing into the doctor’s hands. So he looked up finally and stared the doctor full in the eyes - as much of a challenge as a person in Feliks’ position could pose – and told the truth.
“No. I haven’t been. I hate that stuff, it makes me feel, like….numb.”

| Kiku saw the reaction blossom on Feliks face, and actually found it quite telling on him. He was struggling with what exactly he should say and the turmoil on his face was quite plain to see. His features twitched and scrunched and contorted a bit here and there. Feliks was having a difficult time deciding what exactly he should tell him. It was an important answer, Feliks answer would shape their conversations and interactions from now on.
He seemed to come to a resolution of some sort, sitting in his chair looking horribly uncomfortable. Feliks finally raised his head, and looked Kiku straight in the eye. It seemed like a challenge of some sort, and Kiku was now positive of how he would respond. He was already planning out his next five moves when Feliks actually did answer him.
The answer, was not what he expected at all. Kiku had been sure he would deny it. He wan't Feliks to be honest with him, but if he wasn't Kiku was prepared for it. Either option could be quite enjoyable on his end of the line, but the fact that he had not anticipated this response left him quite surprised for half a second. It wasn't something he showed - being the director of this sort of institution paralleled with his cultural roots gave him a superb grip on how he looked when he was feeling something entirely different.
After that statement there was a bit of silence. Kiku was preparing his next moves, and anticipating what Feliks would respond with. It was actually quite a bit of fun. He liked Feliks already. With that thought, Kiku allowed a sterile, kind sort of smile spread across his lips ever so slightly.
"I see. If you aren't taking the medication then there is no need to continue issuing them to you. You obviously don't like them, and I think you have plenty of potential to work through your issues without their aid. We don't want you dependent on pills for the rest of your life, do we? With no group therapy you will be required to work with me on a regular basis. Who knows, depending on your improvements, we might go out into the city for some sessions. How does that sound, Feliks?"

| As someone who wore their emotions quite plainly, it Dr. Honda’s controlled, calculated expression make Feliks feel rather uneasy. Any sort of reaction would have been nice. Surprise, amusement, even anger… Just something to let him know where this was going. But the doctor gave no clue and Feliks’ proud resolve quickly left him. He lowered his face again, staring down at the legs of his jeans and pursing his lips, waiting for whatever the response would be but holding out no hope that it would be something good. After all, he’d just openly admitted to ducking out of his treatment. Surely now the doctor would order more intensive therapy. Or injections, which Feliks could hardly resist. He shuddered inwardly at the very thought.
The silence stretched on, long and harsh. Feliks imagined the Asian doctor was cooking up some wicked punishment behind that cool expressionless face. He would probably take away his limited freedoms, make Feliks wear those horrible hospital issued clothes or even give him a roommate. It was too terrible to even consider. The blond’s hands clenched in the material of his tunic top. He should have lied, should have said he was taking his medicine. Maybe Dr. Honda wouldn’t have been able to prove otherwise, maybe he could have gotten away with it. Aw, he had messed up badly, and he was surely going to pay for it through some sick demented doctor’s scheme.
But then the answer came, and Feliks froze in surprise, his eyes widening. He looked up, shock quite evident on his face. “Seriously?” he said. Another person might held their cards closer to their chest, but Feliks didn’t have room in his head right now for strategizing against the doctor. The thought of no more medicine left little room for anything else. Not even for curiosity over that strange smile of Dr. Honda’s. He would have never guessed that a doctor in this place would ever suggest no meds. Having a few therapy sessions with one doctor seemed a small price to pay, especially considering Dr. Honda was throwing no group sessions into the deal. And the possibility of going into the city! It wasn’t like he had any money to spend once he got there, but just getting out of the asylum would be a treat in and of itself. An honest, bright smile made an appearance on Feliks’s face, one rarely seen since his arrival at the asylum. “Sure thing, bro! If I don’t have to go to group or take those lameo pills, then I like, have no problem working with you instead!”
