Una wasn't normally the type for kidnapping princesses. She loved to pillage and burn, and cause destruction, but the kidnapping thing was a lot of work she didn't normally partake in. However, this particular Princess would earn quite the pretty penny, and Una couldn't turn down the chance. If things went as planned, she and her whole crew could retire and live in the lap of luxury- which Una would be very pleased with. She would take a great deal of pleasure in rubbing it in her younger brother's- that bloody damned upstart brat- face. So, she planned it all out.

She knew when to attack, and how to do it. The coastal town was well armed, most of the time, but her attack came late at night, and it came quickly. Cannon fire, and muskets blasting, men rushing to slash down any who stood against them. The battle was bloody and the rush made her whole body tingle with adrenaline.

Getting to her target was more fun then anything. By the time she got to the Princess's room, Una was splattered with blood, her sword held out, clothes a little frayed, and flaming red hair wild and free. Smudged with dirt and grime, Una had never felt quite so happy to be as she was.

A good hard kick got the door in, and she lifted the heavy pistol in her hand up to point it in the direction she assumed the princess would be, a wide grin over her dirty face, fire in the background lighting her features in a vibrant red/yellow light, "Anyone home?"

Watching the storm clouds roll in, it wasn't a pleasant sight, nor did it bring in good fortune. Having learned from a young age to take in the signs of nature and interpret it, almost everyone in her home knew that something bad was going to happen. Or had happened.

In Valentina's case, at that moment when the storm was coming, it had already happened, the bad thing, that is. She had been told by her father that she was to be married off to a Spanish noble so that he could rule the land, and so that she could have his children. Now, she had seen this man and in all honesty, he wasn't very handsome, nor was he smart. She guessed that was what she found to be most attractive, a smart, clever mind. So, for the rest of the day, she had been trudging around with a frown on her face. That led to now, where she was sitting in bed, talking to her maid, while looking out the window.

"You should take a nap, love, you look like you need it.. It'll also settle your mind, you know." Her nurse said with a smile, helping her get ready for said nap. Valentina agreed silently, slipping under the covers, and watched as her curtains were drawn so that no light was let in. Watching her nurse leave, she felt herself slip into a deep sleep, dreaming of quite nice things..

She woke with a start, shooting up in her bed. Cannon fire? Muskets? What was this?! She thought as she tied her brown hair back. Flinging open her curtains, she watched as her fathers soldiers fought what appeared to be pirates. It was raining quite much, some of it spraying her face as it passed by, but at the moment, she didn't care. She watched as a red haired person came through the front gates, followed by other pirates, and went straight for the door. That was when her maid came in and started to block the door.

"Valentina! You need to hide this instant! They're coming for you!" She said in a rush, pulling the Colombian princess along. Valentina looked around, grabbing the pan that usually held  hot coals, before following quickly after her maid. Gripping her 'weapon' tightly, she hid where she was told, watching as her maid ran away from her. When her maid stopped in front of her bed, that was when she saw the door burst open, and a voice asking if anyone was home. Her maid's eyes widened considerably as she stared at the other with such fear, Valentina had no idea why though.

Una would have been lying if she said she didn't expect a few people to be with the Princess. The girl was a Princess after all. But what she had expected had been more along the lines of bodyguards, or something more... challenging then an obviously terrified maid. Not that she could really complain about this being easier then she'd expected. In fact, that was something to be happy about, was it not?

Una held the pistol pointed at the maid, "Well, this is a nice surprise, taking her to hide? Sorry, luv, cannae allow tha', would be counter productive, ye see."

She didn't want to shoot the woman though. She didn't like to kill the innocent. If the woman were more of a threat, she might actually think of shooting her- but a maid that look like she was seeing the devil itself. Not that Una didn't appreciate the fear she invoked. She revelled in it, really.

Her gaze slid over towards the princess, to the thing she was holding. Well, at least the girl had some sense about her. "Did we wake ye?" She grinned, "Why donnae ye make this easier, an' just come with me quietly, girlie?"

No one ever went quietly, but it felt like she needed to ask anyway.

Valentina glared at the woman before shifting her gaze towards her maid. Her gaze softened as she took in the other's appearance, it was obvious that she was terrified out of her wits. When the other asked her if she would come quietly or cause a fuss, Valentina frowned again, returning her glare towards the red haired pirate. As she was about to open her mouth to reply, she heard a female scream coming from the direction of her parents room.

"I'll go quietly! Just get your men out of my home before I leave." she said, standing up. "I don't want your filth in my clean home.." She added as an afterthought, brushing away the dust from her underdress. She really shouldn't have worn the corset to nap with, it hurt like hell now, and usually Valentina would have taken it off by now but.. The circumstances were much different. Walking over to the pirate, she kept her head up; eyes giving off no emotion, her jaw set. She looked like one from the royal family, well, except for her hair. It was a tangled brown mess behind her, she would have to run her fingers through it later to break it apart.

"No, Madam, don't go! Your father has called for-" At her maids pleas, she held her hand up to her, looking over. Her gaze softened and a smile appeared. "If I don't leave now, many more would die. I have full trust in my father that he will get me back. Since I'm the eldest daughter, of course he would." She added, her gaze flickering to the one with a gun. Dropping her pan of hot coals, she walked over, standing in front of her now. "Well, are you going to get your men out or just stand there? I thought you were the captain."

That was easier then Una could have ever believed. She had expected more of a fight. At least some kicking or screaming, but all she got was a simpering maid, and a rather willing princess. The girl was willing to sacrifice herself to save her family and people- if Una had actually liked any of her family, she might have respected that. Her general hatred for her family, and unwillingness to bend for anyone but her crew, made it harder for her to see anything except money when she looked at the princess.

She grabbed the girls arm roughly and jerked her closer, "They're mine, al'ight. An' they'll leave soon as we're safe on my ship."

Una gave a cocky grin at the maid, who backed down, before pulling the princess with her. As they left the house, she gave a loud whistle, signalling that they'd got the target and it was time to return.

She dragged the girl with her, not giving much mind to whether or not she could keep up. Once they had boarded the ship she shoved the girl at one of her crew, "Take her majesty down t' the brig. Make sure she's comfy, an' don't be t' rough, wouldn't want to damage the merchandise."

When her arm was grabbed, Valentina tried pulling it away, glaring at the other. With one last look to her maid, she nodded slowly, before being practically dragged out. Oh, how she wanted to fuss about how the other w-- That whistle! She gently patted the ear that was on the closest side to the other, making sure that she was still able to hear. She'd only ever heard whistles that loud from a distance, not up close and personal like just now.

At this point, she had a frown etched on her face, practically running to keep up with the others strides. She lifted up the skirt of her dress so it wouldn't catch, now kind of glad she wasn't wearing shoes. That was, until she cut the bottom of her heel on a rock. Valentina bit her lip, her eyes watering, and stumbled along after the other. She'd rather have it infected then let anyone know about it, and then call her a whiney princess. Her thoughts were interrupted though when she went through dirt, said dirt sticking to the bottom of her now bloody heel. Mentally saying a string of curses, that would no doubt put her mother on her death bed, she continued along.

'Well, now I wont track blood. .' The brunette thought before being boarded onto the ship. She sent a glare to the pirate captain, until she was pushed into someone else's hold. Wretching her arms away from the man, she glared up at him. "I can walk on my own." Valentina said as she dusted off her dress, a frown still on her face. "I hate pirates. . ." she muttered softly, waiting to follow that. . Man into the holding cell of the ship.

With the Princess safely stowed away where no one could do anything that might ruin Una's plans, the Pirate Captain began to pull in her men and set them to work pulling away from the coast. Once they were on the open sea, she could breathe easily, and the rest would be smoothe sailing. That is, until the rescue ships came after them, which likely wouldn't take long. So, Una made sure her men knew where they were expected to go, and to switch their flags, and hope that their ship would go mostly unnoticed.

Until the sun came up, Una was busy keeping everyone up and going. Making sure everything was just right. She'd lost the adrenaline from the night before, and was feeling the exhaustion setting in. With the adrenaline gone, the blood and grime no longer gave her a thrill, just made her skin crawl, and her hair was becoming more of a hassle then a joy. She stalked around the ship in a foul mood and everyone knew well not to be caught slacking off now.

With everything ready for the day, she made her way down to the brig with a tray of broth and bread for the prisoner. It wouldn't do to have the girl die of stravation before they'd gotten the reward, after all. She dismissed the man keeping watch, and moved to take his place, and spoke with a grin and a mocking tone as she addressed the prisoner, "Hungry, m'lady?"

The brunette walked with her chin held high, her dignity and pride showing, or what was left of it at least. She frowned as she was shoved into the 'brig', more like a servant's room but without a bathroom. How was she supposed to relieve herself?! This pirate really was a horrid person, not even treating their prisoner's nicely. How rude. With her nose upturned, Valentina looked around the room, trying to see what she could possibly use to make the room appear more. . . Homey. As long as she stayed here, she might as well make it look decent. She could be staying here for a whole week, she didn't know. Licking her lips, the Colombian princess set her hands on her hips, nose wrinkling at the smell. It was kind of a new smell to her, sort of familiar, yet at the same time, utterly foreign to her.

When the door shut behind her, sealing her in this so called room, she started to walk around the small space. Poking at things, prodding, trying to find some flaw in the room that could be used in her advantage. The only thing that she could possibly use would be the stuffing in her ‘mattress’, a piece of wood that was slowly rotting away on the floor, and a rusty nail. Valentina let out a frustrated sigh and looked out the window, not even bothering to check on her foot to see how it looked, how careless. Letting out a sigh, she peered out the small porthole, leaning against the ship wall. “Father, hurry soon. . .” She murmured to herself before limping back to the bed.

Sitting down, she lifted up her dress skirt to look at her foot, covering her mouth. “Oh, dear. . .” She muttered, peeling away the plant life that had stuck to her bloody foot. She ripped at her dress, pulling off a piece, and spat on it, rubbing it over her wound. She winced a few times, nose scrunched up, before she deemed it slightly less grotesque than it had first been. At least she could actually see the problem. Laying down, she curled up in a ball, resting one palm flat on the cot, and slowly picked at the bed covers. This wasn’t going to be pleasant in the least sense of it.

The next morning when she woke up, the brunette rubbed her eyes and sat up, listening to the commotion going on from upstairs. It was faint, sure, but those men sounded like a herd of elephants, she had no idea as to how that captain could live among those barbarians. Oh, wait, that’s right, their captain is a barbarian. These pirates were like fleas. They were many, they were annoying, and they made her itch in all the wrong ways. Her stomach growled as she ranted in her mind, she was hungry and she hadn’t eaten anything since supper from last night, and after being worked up so much in the same night, she could say that she had worked up an appetite. So when the red haired captain had come into her prison, she was surprised to see the other carrying some bread and a bowl of broth. Better than nothing, even if it was nothing in comparison to what she was usually fed. Valentina scrunched up her nose and grimaced when the other spoke, wanting to vomit up what ever she had in her stomach right then and there on that captain. “Why, yes, thank you. How very kind of you, and here I thought you were going to starve me and then give me back to my father on the brink of death. Thank you, oh honorable captain, for giving me this meal.” She said, emphasizing the end of her sentence with spit. How lady like of her.

The sarcasm did not go unnoticed, and really, if it had been anyone else, Una would have thrown the still hot broth in their face, before drawing her pistol. But, she needed the princess to work with her, or, at the very least, to be breathing and mostly unscathed when she was given back. So, forcing herself to stay calm, and not blow the princess up right there and then, Una shifted the tray to one hand, and used the other to unlock the barred door. She stepped in, and held the tray out, "As amusin' as yer sass is, M'Lady, I'd suggest ye keep it tae yerself."

There was a threat lying under those words, her tone far from amused. She moved into the room, and set the tray down on the bed. Brushing a few pieces of hair out of her face, Una locked her gaze on the spoiled princess, arching a brow. "I also don't suggest ye pull that tone in front of the crew, if ye do, I will be obligated to cut that tongue o' yers right outta yer pretty little head."

"Eat up, and rest. Once we're safe, ye'll be put to work for the rest o' yer meals." Una stated coolly. She didn't usually like the idea of putting prisoners to work, but they'd lost a few members of the crew while catching the princess, and she wasn't about to feed someone for laying about and doing nothing when they could easily be put to work. It might do the princess some good, as well. That way she could go back to her kingdom, and say that yes, she had worked a day in her life, whenever someone threw her status at her as an insult.

PostSubject: Re: [Ireland/Colombia] A Pirate's Treasure [AU]   [Ireland/Colombia] A Pirate's Treasure [AU] Icon_minitimeTue Jul 24, 2012 12:01 am

Her face scrunched up as she listened to the other, looking away from the red haired woman. “You have me shaking in my skirts.” She said, a bitter tone taking over her voice. Valentina watched her walk into the room and set the tray down next to her on the bed. Looking up, she tried hiding the shock that appeared when she locked eyes with the captain. Taking the bowl from the tray, she kept her gaze locked with Una’s, slowly raising an eyebrow at her. “Oh, please, like you’d cut my tongue out. If I’m disrespected, then I’ll make sure to pull this tone out. Don’t instruct me as what I should, or shouldn’t, do, you mongrel.” She said, looking at the soup.

“Now taste this for me. I don’t trust you.” The brunette said, holding out the bowl of broth for the other to test. When she heard that she would have to work for her meals though, her eyebrows both rose, her mouth opening slightly. It opened and closed a few times before her eyebrows scrunched together, cheeks puffing out. “That’s absurd! Why would I work for my meals? I’m a prisoner, aren’t I supposed to just stay down here and sulk for the time being? And another thing, I don’t want those sorry excuses for men hanging around me all hours of the day, you must be kidding me.” Breathing out heavily through her nose, she stood up, clenching her jaw. “You know what, I don’t want your stupid broth. I’ll just sit here and wait for you to come to your senses!” She said, setting the bowl of broth back down on the tray. Picking said tray up, she set it on the floor of her room and turned away from the captain of the ship.

“Leave me be, idiot, I wish to be alone.” Valentina ordered, as if she were in such position as to boss the other around. Still had that princess complex, she did. Being very used to giving out orders and expecting them to be done right then and there, it was a bad thing to do when she was here though, very bad. Valentina needed to realize that she wasn’t at home, nor did she have the status of princess on this ship. She was just a prisoner, a female one at that. One of the shipmates could easily come down here and ruin her—not that she think they would, they couldn’t be that low now, can they? “Another thing, it’s very cold and damp in this here room, could you fetch some more blankets? I’m sure you have some nice pretty ones in your captain’s quarters. . . Wench.” She mumbled the last part, crossing her arms over her chest. “I hope I bring bad luck to this ship and you, and your crew, sink to a watery death.” Although, this would mean that she would sink to her death, as well.
