The world of the Mafia is complicated and extreme; the world of the cops working to take them down is one of danger and risks. Pitted against each other, whom will come up on top? The lawbreakers, or the law enforcers?

In this RP, you get to pick from two categories: cop or mafiosi. For each, you'll have to fill in the application.

For Mafia members:

Name: Francis Bonnefoy

Status in the police: Commandant de Police (Police Major)

History: He was first employed in the Paris police force, but was swiftly transferred to Italy when it became apparent that he was adept at ferreting out members of organized crime. Since then, he's become well-known throughout the police force of all Italy. However, he's lazy and somewhat hypersexual, resulting in him only having a few close friends and many enemies because of his affections. Years of working in the corrupt police force has also led him to accept bribes and the like when offered.

Relations: Being the police major, he's familiar with all members of the police force. He's also familiar with some of the members of the Mafia, having taken several bribes to let them go. He's not corrupt, but if offered a healthy sum, he'll look the other way for most small offenses. He's also lenient with petty criminals, but if someone commits a serious crime and is part of the Mafia, he won't hesitate to arrest them.

Name: Mathias
Position in the Mafia: Undercover operative; handles the management of the Den

History: Mathias is a fatherless, self-made middle-class owner of the Den. It became the center of the Mafia's affair when he was dragged into the darker side of owning a business. He deals in black-market drug-dealing, embezzlement, and purchases
.

Relations: He's been in the business for a while, and as owner of the Den, he knows just about everyone. Though he keeps his distance from the police force, he keeps tabs on their movements and pays bribes to get others out of trouble.

Name: Matthew Williams
Status in the police: Detective

History (describing how they came to be assigned to act against the Mafia): Matthew is a native of Quebec, Canada. In Canada, he was a detective in the Quebec Police Department, but being in the field soon proved to be far too dangerous for him. He couldn't handle the pressure of holding a gun to another human being, and it cost him many arrests and almost his partner's life. Matthew was sent off to France to continue with their national police, but he had to retake his field exams. Failing miserably, he was going to go back to Canada, but a certain police chief by the name of Bonnefoy decided to appoint him as a detective.

Relations (to other characters, be they cop or mafiosi):
Francis Bonnefoy: Francis took pity on Matthew (or that's what the Canadian thinks--the rest of the police seem to think it's because Francis "likes his ass," but Matthew knows that Francis is far too much of a gentleman to even think of such things) and hired him despite his failing his field exam. Matthew looks up to Francis and is very grateful to him--it doesn't hurt that the Frenchman is gorgeous, either.

For the police force:

Name: Gilbert Beilschmidt
Alias: Fritz
Status in the police: Undercover Cop

History: Gilbert Beilschmidt grew up in Berlin, where he lived with his parents and younger brother. He had some trouble in highschool, getting into a lot of bad things, and falling in with the generally wrong crowd. However, being pushed by his parents, and even his younger brother, he managed to pass, and went on to attend a Police Academy.

After eventually graduating- with a few mishaps-, he was quick to get a job, and soon after was placed on the streets. Given the knowledge he'd acquired during his teen years, he had an easier time working his way in with the minor criminals, and was able to help in several big busts.

A few years of working the streets of Berlin, and Gilbert was nearly outed. As the people he sold too started to get distant, it became clear that he wouldn't be much use to the force for a while. His death was faked, and he took some time off from the force.

He took the free time to visit his brother in Canada, where he ran into a detective by the name of Matthew Williams. The two got along pretty well, and kept in contact after Gilbert headed back to Germany, and Matthew to France.

It didn't take long before Gilbert grew fed up with his new job at the department. Since most considered him dead, it was best he stay off the street, and he was working a desk job instead. He was restless and started badgering his boss to find something else for him to do.

A week or more of annoying everyone on the force, and he was transferred to Italy with a recommendation as a undercover cop. Due to the growing crime rate, he got his wish and soon enough, was blending into the circles of criminals almost perfectly, using a false name and working his way up the ranks.

Relations:
Not many, He has a Brother back in Germany, but keeps everything to minimal contact for Ludwig's safety. He gets along well with a few people on the force, but generally keeps to himself. He's also met a few of the Mafia members, but still isn't as aware of them, as he'd like to be.

Matthew Williams: A friend he met through a friend, while visiting Canada. They're pretty close, and he really enjoys the time they get to spend together, though it isn't often due to his choice in profession.

Raivis Galante: Raivis is a young man Gilbert keeps an eye on when he can. He tries to keep a good amount of distance between himself in and the blond, not wanting to draw too much attention. He is aware that it's his ass on the line too, if something happens to Raivis.

Peter Kirkland: Raivis' boyfriend on the force, Gilbert watches over Raivis on Peter's request in return for favors. It's a good deal, though he's not to fond of the idea of messing up and pissing the blue-eyed guy off.

App altered lightly, for a neutral character(I hope that's okay)

Name: Angelique de Quincy
Profession: Waitress at The Nightshade
History: Angelique born on the Island of Mahe. She was born to a deeply in love couple. Her early childhood was happy. Her parents were well off, and she never wanted for anything, not toys, or attention. All together, they were good times, and Angelique would often long for them, in the years to come.

At the age of seven, things changed rather drastically. Angelique's parents died in a car crash, and she was sent to live with her mother's father, on La Digue. It was a big change, to live in his tiny little cottage in a village-esque setting by a beach, from living in the modern styled apartment in the city. For a while, she was uncomfortable, but never one to be held down by anything, she adjusted to the lifestyle presented to her.

Finding happiness again, Angelique was content to spend her days on the beach, or helping her Grandfather with anything he needed to do. She would grow up on that beach, laying out under sun and moon alike, playing in the cool water, and learning the art of fishing from her Grandfather.

As years went by, Angelique was more than ready to continue life in the fashion it had been presented to her. Planning to continue living in La Passe, maybe eventually get married, have a family of her own. However, this laid-back plan for life was ruined when her Grandfather fell ill.

Worried about Angelique's future, her Grandfather sent her live with a rather distant relative in Italy. Angelique was not happy with the change, but put on a brave face for her beloved Grandfather. Staying with her relative, she was miserable. Unable to find much to be happy about, and too shy to take well to the large school she was placed in.

Annoyed at her family members, Angelique spent a good amount of her time away from her new home. She spent a lot of time sitting in public places, sometimes doing tarot card readings for those interested in paying.

Right before graduating from school, Angelique's grandfather passed, and much to her despair, she was not allowed to return to Seychelles for a funeral service. Furious, she rushed out of her relative's home, and didn't return for a week.

She went back, and continued on her schooling. It was a strained time, and Angelique was quick to leave as soon as she graduated. Moving into a tiny apartment over a small book store. She got a job as a Waitress at Nightshade, and started saving what little money she could, planning to return home to her little Island in the Indian Ocean.

Name: Wang Hei

Position in the Mafia: Sniper/Assassin

Age: 15

History: Hei was born in Hong Kong to a very poor family. Shortly after his birth he was sold to a crime syndicate on mainland China, and was taken in and trained by the syndicate. Though he was trained to kill and often did so for little to no pay, he was rather spoiled among the syndicate and when he mentioned wanting to move to Europe to learn more of the world it was arranged that he would move to Italy and work for Mafia connections in the city. Hei moved, was taken in, and quickly established himself as a dependable assassin close and long range. His aim is top notch.

Relations: Hei was rather spoiled, and due to that has a sort of stand offish air to him, so many don't feel they can approach him, and don't attempt. Due to how short his time in Italy has been, and his aloof nature he has yet to make any stable relations in the Italian Mafia. He also has a very difficult time understanding much Italian, but of coarse he knows a few, key words.

For Mafia members:

Name: Xavier Valerio Jose-Santo Fernandez-Carriedo Hernando-Espinoza

Position in the Mafia: Drug Dealer

History (describing how they came to be in the Mafia): Born in Venezuela, Xavier is perhaps one of the most ruthless drug lords in the entire Mafia. He cares little who he kills, and will do eliminate anyone in his way. He does what he has to to get the drugs he sells from his suppliers, and pays them a pittance for it. He likes to think of himself as honest, or even gentlemanly. This is hardly the case.

He joined the Mafia when he was sixteen, after his parents died. He was taken in by a drug lord, and was raised as his heir. When the man died, he took over his place. He's been involved in organized crime ever since, having been arrested several times in Venezuela before fleeing to America. Once there, he made his fortune and fled the police, taking the first plane to Italy.

He works in close cooperation with all members of the Mafia, and is more than willing to help them if he has to.

Relations (to other characters, be they cop or mafiosi):

*Francis Bonnefoy, police Commandant: He's had a few brushes with him, mostly ending with him wounded. He gives up several of his clients to Bonnefoy every time they come into contact so that Bonnefoy lets him go

*Mathias Kohler: He's very familiar with the owner of the Den, and often sells to him

Name: Peter Kirkland

Status in the police: Jr. Detective with an emphasis on Mafia activity

Age: 25

History: Youngest of the infamous Kirkland siblings, Peter grew up tough and hardheaded in England. He was often picked on, but he was the kinda kid that gave just as good as he got. As a young boy he stayed away from potential problems with the law, despite being around temptation all the time. Instead Peter focused on school and sports, throwing himself into both pursuits. He was a good soccer player all through school and helped his hight school teem win nationals twice. Since he came from a poor family, there was little to no money alloted to Peter so that he could attend collage. Knowing this, Peter worked various part time jobs all throughout high school, having to quite his place on the soccer teem in his senior year of high school despite all of his team mates wishes. He saved up, and, just as he wanted moved to Italy away from his family and went to a decent school. He signed up as a electrical engendering major. All seemed well for Peter's future until he met Raivis Galante, a fellow classmate that Peter happened to be partnered with. After a bumpy start the Peter fell madly in love with Raivis, and after some difficult internal battles the two started dating. It was only after that Peter learned that Raivis had ties to the mafia, and that the slight boy was being forced to put his life on the line daily because he could not leave. Peter convinced Raivis to go to the police, sure that they would help him because his brother Arthur was a cop back in England, Peter very much trusted the system. No such luck. Raivis was put back on the streets as an undercover informant of the mafias actions; Raivis was in more danger now than he had ever been. Peter was devastated. He stopped going to classes and signed up for the police academy instead. By 21 he had joined the force as a regular cop and by 24 he was a detective, but there seemed nothing he could do about Raivis's position, though he is still determined to keep him safe, no matter what the department says. He also has a pet sugar glider named Via, who hangs out in his pocket. Most people can't tell that she's even there, because she's often sleeping and he's trained her not to come out unless called. But he does have her cage -cleaned daily so that it doesn't smell at all- hiding under his desk so that his boss doesn't quite find out.

Relations:

Raivis Galante: Lover and best friend, Peter is completely devoted to him, though their relationship is sometimes rather strained and painful for both parties. Raivis is in a difficult situation that puts his life at risk daily. Peter wants nothing more than to run away with him and leave all their woes behind, but is not able to. It is for Raivis's sake that Peter joined the police department and works tirelessly to take down the mafia as best he can, he's been known to do outlandish things to this end. The two rarely get any time together any more, they are usually alloted one weekend a month for Raivis's safety. Peter has a separate phone that is only for Raivis to use, it is registered under an alias so that no one can trace it back to him. Peter keeps it on and charged at all times. It should be noted that no one, except Gilbert knows that Raivis and Peter have any sort of relation, or even know each other.

Arthur Kirkland: Arthur Kirkland is Peters older brother, and a detective on the force. They didn't get along well as children, but over the years they grew rather affectionate in a very familial way - they bicker and fight some times, but are generally playful and get along. They'd become rather distant when Peter moved to Italy on his own without saying a word to his family, but with Arthur in the area once again Peter isn't exactly sure how he feels about it. Despite his uncertainties, they're rather close.

Alfred Jones: If Peter was much of the drinker -he's sworn off of it because he knows how Arthur gets when he's drunk- Alfred would be the guy he'd drink with. They're good friends and get along well.

Gilbert Beilschmidt: An undercover cop that Peter relies on to keep Raivis safe. To this end Peter provides Gilbert with whatever he may want or need in any given situation. Be it a quick meal, or the key to the gun locker on police property. It is understood between the two that if anything is to happen to Raivis, that Gilbert will be hunted down like a dog.

Name: Alfred F. Jones

Status in the police: Special investigator

History: Born in New York to relatively well-off parents, Alfred was always the center of attention, due to being an only child, but he wasn't spoiled; his parents had taught him well and given him a sense of justice. He was always fascinated by the police; His favorite thing to do as a child was play cops and robbers, or be the sheriff for the cowboys and Indians. He was also athletic. Even as a young child, he played sports. His favorite movies were always about busted heists and crime dramas. When he was a bit older, he began to research what it took to be a police officer. That was enough to inspire him; Alfred took care to keep his grades up and was accepted to a police academy. The physical tests were no big deal, and he turned out to be quite a sharpshooter.

Alfred's first taste of the reality of being a cop came when he was thrown onto the streets of New York City for the NYPD. He only really began to understand the intensity of the job and how the real life bad guys were. Only when he realized just how much gangs and especially the Mafia can destroy families and lives did he dedicate his time to taking them down.

He was eventually transferred from the NYPD to help out in England, where he was partnered with Arthur who he worked with on a few cases. While tracing back the roots of a local branch of the mafia, they found the root of it in Italy. The pair moved there to nip the problem in the bud.

Relations

Arthur Kirkland: His newest partner. At first, he'd thought he was just kinda funny; Those with eyebrows and that accent and his crankiness, he used to just laugh off what he'd say. However, something about risking your life with someone every day, and seeing him in action and having him prove that he was, indeed, very much qualified. Over the few years they'd been working together, Alfred had become a bit fond of him, and thinks if he were ever to die, he wouldn't be able to cope. Of course, he won't admit how much he need him there, partly because he himself doesn't realize it, but he does say he prefers Arthur alive than dead.

Peter Kirkland: He thinks of Arthur's younger brother as a good friend. Alfred thinks he's a fun guy to be around, even if most of Alfred's time is spend with his older brother.

Sedgwick Kirkland: Alfred doesn't quite understand why, but for some reason he'd never liked Alfred being Arthur's partner. For that reason, he doesn't know him very well; he'd always figured it was best to leave it alone.

Francis Bonnefoy and Matthew Williams: He knows them...or, of them. While he doesn't know too much about them, he got some weird vibes from Francis and didn't really have any opinion about Matthew, so he doesn't think too much about either.

For the police force:

Name: Arthur “Iggy” Kirkland
Age: 27
Status in the Police: Detective – Special Investigations

History: Middle child of the Kirkland siblings, Arthur was something of a rebel growing up. He started smoking and drinking at age 14 and enjoyed pushing the limits, sneaking out to local pubs and venues to see the bands play and often following the lead of his older brother. Even with his wild ways, he was honest and most of the fights he got into were incited by the other person’s rudeness or an attack (verbal or physical) on him or his brothers, which Arthur would not tolerate. Despite his late nights and hungover mornings, he was intelligent and was able to get by in school, though not as well as he would have if he’d had any focus, and he avoided getting into any major trouble.

Arthur joined the Police force in England right out of school, but mostly his brother Sedgwick did. However, he quickly discovered that he liked the work, finding it rewarding and satisfying and having authority was always a plus. The brothers were partnered and they rose up the ranks together. They could be counted on to get the job done, but there methods were often unorthodox and they were overly zealous, costing their department a fortune and resulting in the being reassigned separately. The event caused him to take a look at his behavior and he determined that his punkish attitude was no longer appropriate. Arthur cleaned up his act after that, finally gaining the maturity he mostly lacked up until that point. Though some would be of the opinion that he went too far in the opposite extreme, becoming straight-laced, uptight, and by the book. Drinking or hanging out with his older brother can bring his inner punk out again, however.

He was partnered with Alfred Jones after his reassignment and though they bicker, they mostly get along and they work well together. After several successes, the two became special investigators focusing on organized crime. They traced a local branch back to Italy and were transferred there to help try to stop the crime wave at its source.

Relations:
*Alfred F. Jones – current partner. He had a low initial opinion of Alfred at first, thinking him slow-witted and cocky, but much of this stemmed from Arthur still being bitter about being separated from Sedgwick. After working with him for a while, he saw that Alfred was a good cop and perfectly capable of doing the job. Over time, Arthur came to trust Alfred with his life and developed a fondness for the younger man, become as protective of him as he was of his brothers.

*Sedgwick Kirkland – Elder brother and previous partner. The two were practically attached at the hip growing up, though when they occasionally fought, they were brutal about it. They have a tendency to egg each other on, and being around his brother brings out the deviant in Arthur. He is very close to his older brother, perhaps to an unhealthy and inappropriate degree. Was very upset when they could no longer work as partners.

*Peter Kirkland – younger brother. Arthur and Peter didn’t get along well when they were younger, but more recently they have gotten closer. Arthur is protective of Peter and proud of him for joining the police force. He still has a tendency to be bossy around his younger brother, even though they are both adults, but it’s only because he’s trying to look out for him.

For Mafia members:

Name: Sadiq Merdin Adnan
Position in the Mafia: Handles external affairs (i.e making sure people keep their mouths shut, making deals, etc) and guns expert.
History (describing how they came to be in the Mafia): Sadiq didn't have some sob story of being alone since a child or getting kicked out of his home either. This thirty-six year old man spent a good portion of the first half of his life content, in a good place, and completely satisfied with his life...almost. See, he got almost anything he wanted some restrictions applied but by the time he hit Sophomore year of high school he was thirsting for more. At the time the boy wanted another outlet for his energy, and for his love of a good adrenaline kick. Scoping out the area from the start he kept his eyes on the workings of the criminal underground wanting to be a part of that sort of society. It wasn't glamorous and it sure as hell wasn't anything his parents would approve of but, he didn't care.

So what is a bored young man to do?

Easy, once he graduated high school he struck it off on his own telling his parents he was going to heading in college soon. Once the smoke and mirrors were up to fool them he began delving into the criminal underworld. It was a tough descent but he was able to prove he had enough worth to be useful to them. The man's natural ability to talk to people in such an easy-going manner became an asset to his bosses at the time, and his interest and knowledge of firearms also proved useful in the long run.

For the better part of eighteen years he has moved up in the ranks, found a comfortable position, and hasn't had a reason to be bored since. Recently however he has been searching for a few crooked cops to make deals with; never an easy task but always fun.

Relations (to other characters, be they cop or mafiosi): For being so personable he does not have many friends within the mafisoi or the cop arena.

Name: Lotte van Aldeniek
Status in the police: Just your average beat cop.
History: Lotte was just your average girl with a cop for a father, really. He was a high ranking detective, worked long hours, but he always made time for his children. Then he was killed by a mafia hit.

Lotte isn't the kind of woman who's typically fuelled by revenge, so her decision to enter the police force, instead of pursuing her life long dream of owning a bakery, was at the urging of her mother. She was in the middle rank of the academy, not doing particularly well, or particularly horribly, but she graduated. She joined the police force, and she's happy just being a beat cop. (Hey, it's better than being security or something.) She's had quite a few encounters with low level mafia members, and then average hooligans, but not so many with higher ups.

But she doesn't really want to run into the higher ups, or the hit man that killed her father.

Relations: She doesn't really talk with the other members of the police force, preferring to work solo, and doing much better like that.

However...she does often meet with a mafia member named Sadiq Adnan. She knows he's a member of the mafia, and that she should probably be trying to arrest him, but she just...can't.

Name: Sedgewick Kirkland
Status: Demolitions Expert
Alliance: Mafia
Age: 33

History: Sedgewick Kirkland is the eldest of the Kirkland siblings and possibly the most aggressive. His temperament is extremely hostile at best when he is angry, and otherwise he is a very sarcastic and punk-ish man. Growing up he always did his own thing not really caring about the consequences because he felt he would find a way out of it. If there was a way to describe Sedgewick it would be that he was like a trickster type. Always finding ways to slip between the raindrops and barely feeling the burn. His rebellious ways and attitude had an effect on his younger brother Arthur; and he knew it. Most of the time he snuck Arthur out to go to a pub, a concert, or any other trouble they could both get into.

As soon as they graduated and joined the police force that didn't slow Sedgewick down at all. His attitude and disregard for rules was still prominent and it was any wonder he made it this far. Explosions were his business and no matter the job he knew they'd find a way to quell any problems; even if it meant the need for a few explosions.

However due to their unorthodox nature and their actions the two were separated as partners. Greatly upset by this act instead of it shaping Sedge up he got more irritable. Now he was more of a nuisance and a brat to be around so what is a man to do? Not really feeling a connection to the police anymore he turned in his badge, his gun, all of it except his extensive knowledge which could not be given back. With this he took to finding a new more rewarding job and as lady luck had it he found this job in the criminal underground. Now a demolitions expert for the mafia he can freely cause more of a ruckus within the more open guidelines, and hopefully if he's really lucky he will run into Arthur again.

Relations:

*Peter Kirkland - His younger brother and perhaps a little more refined and focused than the other kids. Sedgewick picked on him growing up but he was never too mean about it. Most of the time he kept out of Peter's way and let the kid do what he wanted.

*Arthur Kirkland - The younger brother that he loved to get into trouble and drag all over the place, only because Arthur didn't care. They fought like two angry dogs sometimes and sometimes they were the best of friends depending on the situation that presented itself. Once they were accepted into the Police Force as partners he was pretty happy about that turn of events, and perhaps a little too happy. No one outside the two knew but they both held an almost unhealthy brotherly relationship, to the point Sedge had been a bit touchy with him.

Name: Marcus Valentino Emilio Vargas
Position in the Mafia: Don (Leader)
Age: 38
History (describing how they came to be in the Mafia): Marcus was born into the family business as many mafia members are. Born in the town of Frosinone his father was a prominent member within the Italian mafia for many years. As such Marcus grew up thrust into the middle of this seedy underworld where keeping ties meant everything, and where a simple phrase or action could get you and your family on the ropes. The boy grew up becoming very cautious but even more so he became very cunning as a result of watching everyone. From his father and his father's friends he learned the ways of articulation, deceit, and how you speak to someone to ensure you get what you need.

By the age of 10 they moved to the city of Rome to relocate for his father. There he was enrolled in one of the best private schools they could find. Marcus excelled greatly in mathematics, writing, and sports which placed him at top of the class. In this time of school was when he began to play around with what he learned growing up, and reaping the benefits of manipulation. It was also school that started to teach him how to interact with different kinds of people which would prove beneficial later.

His high school years were the time he really began to shine in all honesty. At this age now his father entrusted young Marcus to start being a sort of middle man. Information his father provided and needed to give to someone else Marcus would do that, and vice versa. His weekends and after school times when he wasn't doing school work he was helping his father. The jobs started to become more and more difficult and more of a liability but all the same Marcus did it. The boy began to get a thirst for the interactions and the process behind everything that was going on; he wanted to be done with school and dive into this life completely without distraction.

Though Marcus's main vice if anything had to be the women he was around. The young man was a flirt and he engaged in sexual deviancy without his parent's knowledge. This caused quite the problem when he turned twenty because the girl he was seeing got pregnant. A catholic who had sex prior to marriage and now the woman was with child; not a good situation. Forced to marry her at the age of twenty nine months later she produced a son, Romano Vargas. Even with the prospect of an heir it still didn't quell the man's distaste for the situation locking him in a loveless marriage. To escape the mundane situation he was faced with many nights he would go and pleasure himself with other women.

That was some time ago and now he is 38 years old taking the place of his father, who died of a heart condition when Marcus was 34. Possibly one of the younger Dons to step onto the scene this did not stop him from flexing the knowledge acquired. Currently he has Romano going to school but on the side is also teaching him the ins and outs of the business.

For the police force:

Name: Heracles Karpusi

Status in the police: Historical Analyst and Heavy Artillery Expert

History (describing how they came to be assigned to act against the Mafia): Heracles, having a very lax disposition, was never into any extreme adrenaline rushing activities, like being spies or detectives, because his mother favored him to excel in History, Arts and Literature.

His mother, Hera, at that time, was affiliated to Marcus Vargas, the Don of a very well known Mafia. At a young age, Heracles did not have any ill views with his "father", seeing that it actually had a good relationship with him. But things turned for the grimmer side. Being the most horrific scene that scarred him for life, Heracles witnessed with his own eyes how Marcus killed his mother for reasons he actually does not know.

After Marcus left him to suffer, Heracles promised to avenge his mother by the most acceptable deed possible - killing Marcus himself. Even though he didn't have the zeal within the other cops, and that he was used to the relaxed nature of the land in which he grew in, being a very peaceful country in the Mediterranean, he had the smarts to analyze historical cases known about the Mafia and trace out possible justifications on any given evidence, mostly because it was the files on which he focused on regarding Police positions, and that it didn't actually contain much of the hardcore actions he often hears from the other cops and detectives. More over, having a friend from the island of Japan who knows countless information on state-of-the-art technology, even in the fields of artillery, helped him to develop and innovate heavy artillery that could be used by the Police Squad in case of a mass raid/attack on the Mafia group.

Whatever it may be that he can offer, and whatever stake might be at hand, he was ready to give it his best in order to avenge the death of his dear mother.

Relations (to other characters, be they cop or mafiosi): With him being a very reclusive and introvert person, he doesn't have that many connections with people. Still, there are very notable persons connected to him.

† Marcus Valentino Emilio Vargas - Marcus is his father to his mother, Hera. After Marcus had killed his dear mother, Heracles swore that he would avenge the death of his Mother no matter what it takes, thus joining the Police Squad in order to put a halt to Marcus' vile ways.

† Honda Kiku - Kiku is his close friend from Japan who helps him with the analysis for the historical evidences as well the development and innovation of heavy artilleries seeing that his friend is very well known for his intellect with technology.

† Sadiq Adnan - Sadiq was a boy he had known from his childhood to which Heracles didn't actually liked. After he entered the Police Squad, he hasn't heard of Sadiq ever since, not knowing what he's up to; whether he was involved with the fight between the Police and the Mafia. He doubts that Sadiq still remembers him.

For Mafia members:

Name: Maria Clara Dela Cruz Santiago
Position in the Mafia: Cat Burglar
History :
Clara, who was born on the streets, was taken in by the syndicate. She was asked to beg on the streets. She’d meet her quota and get fed but it wasn’t enough for her. So she starts stealing while on the job, a deed that did not entirely displease the syndicate boss. Seeing talent in the young girl, he decides to educate her, train her in the ways of smuggling and the like. But then, their organization was discovered. She along with many others had to break their connections and start over. Clara did, and it BORED her. It started with a man’s wallet, sticking out of his pocket. A watch soon came after that, then jewelry. The thrill of it all made her long for the old times, but it was all too easy. And so she works solo as a cat burglar, stealing things for her and eventually, for organizations that were willing to pay and give her a little challenge. And what better way to get connected and hired than through the mafia?
Relations :
Since she is still fairly new to the whole thing, Clara doesn’t have much connections to anyone important at the moment.

Name: Honda Kiku

Position in the Mafia: Hacker

History: Kiku Honda was born in Tokyo Japan, and his young life was relatively uneventful. He got into good schools, and he made decent grades, and he got a good degree. But that was only part of the issue. Kiku, at a very young age, found that he had an affinity with computers. What took other people hours to do on a computer, took him only minutes. The intricacies of hard ware and the workings of computer were of great interest to him, and made much more sense then the rest of the world.
The world of hacking came to him like second nature, and he found himself spending more and more and more of his free time on the internet, breaking into different servers just because he could.
One day, Kiku broke into a server he ought not have. The information he gained was something he had no doubt he would be killed for having, and because of that he fled Japan, hoping that it would be enough to keep himself safe.

Two years later found him in Italy, where he presented himself to the local mob for protection and to offer his services. Since being hired as part of the mafia, Kiku rarely leaves the Den, and has been known to wander out of his computer area late at night for food. The only other time he goes out is to meet with his friend Heracles Karpusi.

Relations:
Heracles Karpusi: A friend he's made during his time in Italy. They try to get together at least once a week. Kiku is aware that Heracles is a member of the police force, but has hidden that from the other members of the mafia as much as possible. Kiku does not want to endanger his friend, and tries very hard not to use any of the information Heracles might give him against the department. He is always more than happy to help Hercales with any technological questions he might have, and turns a blind eye if they show up in use by the police force.

Name: Mary Rosa Castillo

Position in the Mafia: Weapons dealer

History: Mary was born to a poor family in Mexico City. One of 14 children, Mary grew up taking care of her younger siblings and getting flack from most of her older siblings. Life was hard, and she worked very hard to keep the house functional with her mother. When her father died young, Mary's older brothers tried to pick up the slack, but the family was in a very difficult place. It was around this time that Mary started getting into a more dangerous sort of business. At first it was just small favors here and there for extra cash, but it quickly developed into a high end business, in which she would pick up influential men and get them to spill their guts over a nice cup of alcohol, literally and figuratively speaking.

But the work was unappealing, and Mary wanted something more stable and with a more steady income. So using her charm, she convinced one of the influential owners of a gun trafficking ring to let her in on his business. He was found floating in a river somewhere, and Mary was obviously the one that took his place at the top, and anyone interested in dethroning her did not survive long. She has been there ever since, and had done very well with her job.

Relations: She's currently interested in expanding her market from her home country of Mexico, and is looking to secure some deals in Italy. She's not yet been acquainted with the Italian 'authorities', but she's looking to open shop and wants to convince them that her product is worth their money. Thusly, she is currently making 'relations'.

Name: Raivis Galante
Age: 27
Position in the Mafia: Runner and negotiator for his family, the Galantes

History : Having grown up in a mafia family, Raivis is used to being forced into a life of crime. His family often mistreats him and assigns him difficult tasks as a messenger between their relations. He is seen as an important yet expendable tool. His sweet face and unimposing appearance make him an ideal candidate for negotiations, but he is often used as a scapegoat and roughed up by those who don’t think highly of his family’s offers. Even though Raivis is easily frightened and generally nervous, he has also mastered a stoic look that he puts on when threatened in an attempt to appear unfazed. He’s prone to trembling fits, but tries his best to control them. Despite his small size, he has an incredible tolerance level when it comes to alcohol and can often be found drinking to relieve his stress.

Raivis’ life has always been extremely risky. There have been times when he’s been beaten to almost an inch within his life because of a deal gone wrong. Despite this, he’s tried his best to make his life appear normal on the outside. He attended a university nearby where he met Peter though an English class. Despite his reluctance to form any ties, Raivis and Peter became fast friends, though Raivis was careful to hide the truth about his life from him at first. Eventually, Peter found out and encouraged Raivis to go to the police for protection. Raivis finally agreed, reluctantly, but instead of helping him escape his family, the police turned him into a double agent, insisting that this was the best use of his position. The increased danger terrified Raivis, and he felt guilty knowing that he was not only becoming a traitor to his family, but causing Peter to fear for his safety more than he already did. However, he also realized that even the police couldn’t protect him if he was to turn his back on his family openly, so now he continues to fight against them in secret.

Relations:
Peter Kirkland- his best friend and lover, thought their relationship is a very secret one. His love for him is both his greatest joy and reason for his greatest fear in life. He cares about Peter more than anyone and is often stressed about the danger he puts him in by being involved with him. He’s careful not to let his family know anything about their relationship or even that he’s gay. He fears they would kill Peter if they ever found out and knows his own life would be in danger as well. Before he met Peter, Raivis was prepared for death; even though he’s timid, his heart has also been hardened by the risks his line of work brings. He still lives knowing that any day could be his last, but because he has Peter, the idea of leaving his lover alone terrifies and grieves him. There are times he wishes Peter would leave him and in doing so, remove himself from potential harm, but at the same time, he’s become so dependent on the happiness his lover brings him that he just can’t bring himself to let him go.

Name: Romano Lovino Vargas
Age: 17
Position in the mafia: Heir to the don, Marcus Vargas

History: A rebellious young man whose spoiled upbringing makes him act very immature at times. He loves his mother dearly but has a rocky relationship with his father since he knows of his affairs with other women. He doesn’t have a lot of interest in becoming the next don since it would mean doing what his father wants, but at the same time, the idea of having the right to succession taken away from him infuriates him enough to go along with it. Even though Romano puts on a tough front, he is in truth, a coward, and would rather run from trouble than stand and fight. He’s well aware of his own weakness, and this, in turn, makes him very unsure of himself and his ability to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Romano often slacks off, making his grades at school very poor, but his father’s money keeps him from being kicked out. Even though he’s more intelligent than he lets on, he doesn’t like dealing with a lot of responsibility and is often found napping or hanging out at the pub despite being underage. His father’s position affords him a lot of special privileges, but also makes it difficult for him to have any friends except for those hoping to use him to get close to his father.

Romano does not give away his trust easily and is often wary of strangers. He had a traumatizing experience as a child in which he was kidnapped and held for ransom by a rival mafia group. He knows his mother would be better off divorcing his father and wishes he could just go off and live a quiet life with her and his brother, but as any mafia member knows, once you’re in, there’s only one way out.

Relations:

Marcus Vargas- His father, the current head of the Vargas family. The two don’t get along well at all. Romano blames Marcus for most of his hardships in life and is bitter towards him because of the treatment of his mother. He’s unaware that he was conceived out of wedlock and looks down on his father’s behavior with other women in utter disgust.

Feliciano Vargas- His younger brother. Though Romano is jealous of him for being favored by their father, he’s also very protective of him. He acts openly hostile towards Feliciano most of the time, but he’s also the first person he’ll go to if he ever feels lonely or depressed. His goal is to win Feliciano’s admiration, but never feels like he succeeds in doing so.

Gupta Muhammad Hassan- The only person outside his family Lovino considers a friend- and recently, more than that. He's still not exactly sure how he and Gupta became so involved, but he's used to taking what he wants and considers himself the initiator of their relationship, reasoning that if he hadn't wanted it, it wouldn't have happened. Lovino has no experience in dating which makes the idea a bit awkward for him; being so private and untrusting, he's reluctant to let most people know what's going on between him and the other boy.

For Mafia members:

Name: Feliks Łukasiewicz

Position in the Mafia: Designated Informer/ Bartender at The Den

History: Feliks is the materialistic type and has always worked jobs with quick, under-the-table payouts and a touch of glamour and style never hurt either. He moved to Italy to study design when he was 16 but had trouble sticking to the structure that was expected of him in school. He dropped out of school after six months and started working for the mafia almost immediately after that, doing whatever odd job was requested of him for cash. He dabbled as a runner, and a scout, and with the occasional drug deal or book keeping. For two years, he worked at the horse tracks and took bets for the mafia, fixing a few of the races for big payouts, a job he still enjoys from time to time.

Lately, his job has been as a decoy informer to the police. He reports only what the mafia wants the police to know, effective for misinformation as well as the occasional use of the police as punishment for useless or untrustworthy members or for informing against rival families. Feliks rather likes this job, as it usually means he gets paid both by the mafia and the police.

To fill in the gaps between assignments, he works as the bartender at The Den.

Relations:
Mathias: His employer, though Feliks mostly maintains a business relationship with him.

He has no particularly close bonds to anyone in either the mafia or the police force. While able to put on the charismatic and confident act while on the job, he is in actuality rather shy and doesn’t open up easily. He does lend a friendly ear to the patrons of the bar and he loves to hear all the gossip they dish out when they’ve had a few too many.

Name: Una Kirkland O'Connor
Age: 29
Position in the Mafia: Weapons dealer

History: Being the only girl in the Kirkland family wasn't exactly easy. Though, given how everyone seemed to turn out, being a boy wouldn't have made things any easier. As a child, Una was just as loud and obnoxious as the boys, quick to get in a fight with any of them, if it meant earning herself a little bit of space. By the time she hit middle school, she started to shift from a tomboy with a good right hook, to bit of a girly girl, though she was still ready to put anyone (her brothers especially) in their place if they pushed her.

Throughout middle school, and high school, Una developed a deep love for music, poetry, and art. She made friends who held the same interests, and spent as much time with them, and away from home, as she could. More nights were spent sleeping on the floor of a friends room, then at home in her own bed. She worked hard in her studies, but still failed to gain the scholarship she wanted. She did graduate, and the day after was packed and leaving.

She took the little money she'd saved up working part time at a bookstore, and paid for a ferry ride to Ireland. For a while she kept in contact with her family, more out of a sense of loyalty than any thing else, and within a year, her letters and extremely rare phone calls came to a halt.
The contact was cut off, because Una had found something far better than studying while staying in Ireland. She found Teig O'Connor. A tall, black haired, dark eyed, Irishman, who swept her off her feet, and lured her into a world far away from her books and classes. Having never been a wall flower, she blended in quickly with his crowd, despite her English background.

By the age of 21, Una had married Teig. She was happy, and content, with her life for the first time in what felt like years. From Teig, she learned everything she could ever need to know about guns, and bombs, how to make, use, put them together. Una became known for her natural talent with the weapons, and her quick to attack attitude.

Teig died a few years after their marriage, in a shooting, leaving Una widowed at 24. She stayed in Ireland for another year, before packing her things, and moving to Italy, in hopes of not having to think about her lost love. In Italy, she was able to get affiliated with the Italian Mafia, whom she worked with, by selling, and trading, illegal firearms. She's also been known to get in on fights and scuffles either with, for the Mafia, or just normal bar brawls.

The type to rush in guns blazing, Una isn't much for taking orders, and this has lead her to a bit of trouble with the mafia, but usually, her skills and merchandise come in quite a bit of use to them, making them often overlook her rather brash behavior.

Relations:

Arthur Kirkland: Una never really got along with Arthur, when they were kids she pushed him around because he was smaller, and always seemed to be underfoot. As a teen, she just snubbed him, his style was an embarrassment to her, and the lifestyle she was trying very hard to live. When she left for Ireland, she found she didn't miss him all that much. A mild pang here or there, more towards the fact that he was her brother, and the knowledge that she should miss him, than anything else. The loss of contact with him was not a big deal for her, and she hasn't thought of him much in the past few years.

Peter Kirkland: By the time Peter was old enough to hold Una's attention as more than a snot-nosed little boy, she had already had her eyes set on Ireland and what she believed to be her future. Because of this, she never really went out of her way to interact with him. Though, of all her siblings, if Peter had come to her for anything, she would have been more willing to help him out, since he never did, she didn't have a reason to do so. Like with the others, she didn't feel much loss when she left him behind, though while she was still keeping contact it was mostly to check up on him.

Sedgewick Kirkland: Of all her siblings, Una was probably the closest to Sedgewick when they were younger, but they quickly grew apart. He attached himself to Arthur, while she found life outside the family home. She probably missed him the most, when she left, though the years they had lived together had left them distant, and it wasn't hard for her think of other things.

Name: Feliciano Vargas
Age: 16
Position in the Mafia: Nothing particularly special yet

History:

If he had been born into another family with absolutely no realtion to his current relatives, Feliciano's life probably would have turned out much differently. Though he loves his family with all of his heart, that doesn't mean that he loves the things they do, are involved in, or make him do personally. Perhaps luckily for him, Feliciano has a pretty oblivious personality, and he was rather naive about all this mafia buisiness until he was a bit older. Even today, he still doesn't understand the complexity of everything. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage in his life.

Luckily for him, his brother is older, making him the heir when their father retires. Feliciano is greatful for that, as he would never have been able to take on the job. He is far too cowardly and clumsy to even perform simple tasks at times, nevermind become the boss. In the past, he has nearly accidentally shot himself numerous times when attempting to learn to handle a gun properly. Still, his father never gets mad.

Outside of the family buisiness, Feliciano is your average oddball. Even if he can be loud and obnoxious at times, he is still a people person with a kind heart. Despite this, he has few extremely close friends because it is rather hard to bring them back home. It doesn't matter to him though, really. Being the youngest in the family (even if it really is only by a year) he is much loved by most people in it and is rather spoiled.

Truth of the matter is, everything about this little family secret horrifys him and he is scared deep down that one day something bad will happen to himself or someone he cares about dearly. He wouldn't let you know that though behind his smile.

Relations:
Marcus Vargas - father
Feliciano adores his father. A lot. The two have a lot in common, and he would do anything his father wanted him to since he believes he knows best. He looks up to him a lot.

Romano Vargas - older brother
Like any little brother, Feliciano adores his older brother...in their own special ways. They certainly have a special relationship. Although the two boys argue a lot, he really does care for his brother. Sometimes he worries about him with all the frightening things he has to do.

((I hope I remembered correctly what we had said, Romano! Sorry if I remembered wrong!))

For Mafia members:

Name: Ivan Braginski
Position in the Mafia: Second in command though is in transition to becoming head of the Russian sector at some point.

Mafia Branch: (Asian, European, or Latin) European

Age: 27

History (describing how they came to be in the Mafia): The Russian mafia was never a very pleasant place to be and it was especially so for the son of the head of it. Growing up Ivan learnt very quickly the necessity for keeping your mouth shut, head low, and doing your job. His family had been more known int he underground for their blatant cruelty and viciousness as they never took prisoners. If you messed up you died and if you didn't die you were lucky to have all limbs in tact. As a young boy his family treated him (as they did his sisters) with a harshness to ensure they bred children who weren't soft. The rough treatment had a strange toll on Ivan as he wished to please his family but was confused by their uncaring actions. It was because of this flip flop between concerned parental guidance and cruel venomous words that Ivan mentally started to withdraw. In time as he grew towards his teenage years he began to emulate their ideals and values while still trying to retain an innocence about himself.

This 'innocence' proved highly useful.

This dual nature he displayed when around people made it easier for them to trust him. However, once they were close enough, if he deemed it, he was known for being vicious. While being home-schooled his father made him a runner, and then a middleman of sorts once he hit 18. As a middleman he used his friendly and seemingly congenial nature to talk to customers and members from other Mafias with ease. However, for those that tried to call his bluff or double cross his family he quickly became the creature that made them afraid to turn the light off at night.

Ivan is now working diligently as ever in the mafia, and knows soon with his father's health failing he will become the new head.

Relations (to other characters, be they cop or mafiosi):
